B. Limited Lifetime Warranty
HARMAN® CENTRAL HEATING PRODUCTS LIMITED WARRANTY
Hearth&HomeTechnologiesInc.,onbehalfofitsHarman®brand(”HHT”),extendsthefollowingwarrantyforallHarman®furnaceandboilerproducts(“Products”)thatarepurchasedfromanHHTauthorizeddealer.
Warranty Coverage: Subjecttotheconditions,exclusionsandlimitationssetforthbelow,HHTwarrantstotheoriginalowneroftheProducts,andtoanytransfereetakingownershipoftheProductsatthesiteoforiginalinstallationwithintwoyearsfollowingthedateoforiginalpurchase,thattheProductswilloperatefreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipundernormalconditionsanduse,asdescribedintheoperatinginstructionsfurnishedwiththeProduct,duringthewarrantyperioddescribedbelow.HHTwill,atitsoption,repairorreplaceanyProductcoveredbythiswarrantythatisdeterminedtobedefectiveinmaterialorworkmanship.
Warranty Period: Thewarrantyperiodrunsforsixyears,except formechanicalandelectricalcomponents,whicharewarrantedforthreeyears.Thewarrantyperiodbeginsontheearlierof:(i)thedateofinvoicefortheProduct;(ii)inthecaseofnewhomeconstruction,thedateoffirstoccupancyoftheresidenceorsixmonthsafterthedateofsaleoftheProductbyanHHTauthorizeddealer,whicheveroccursfirst;or(iii)thedate24monthsfollowingthedateofProductshipmentfromHHT,regardlessoftheinvoiceoroccupancydate.
Warranty Conditions:ThiswarrantyappliesonlytoProducts:(i)installed,operated,andmaintainedasrecommendedintheProductuser’smanual;(ii)purchasedthroughanHHTauthorizeddealer;(iii)whileremainingatthesiteoforiginalinstallation;and(iv)thathavenotbeenalteredafterleavingthefactory.
How to File a Claim:ClaimsmustbemadewithinthewarrantyperiodtothedealerwhosoldtheProduct.Ifthatdealercannotprovidethewarrantyservice,contactthenearestHHTauthorizeddealer.AdditionalservicefeesmayapplyifyouareseekingwarrantyservicefromadealerotherthanthedealerfromwhomyouoriginallypurchasedtheProduct.Travelandshippingchargesforpartsarenotcoveredbythiswarranty.
Warranty Exclusions:Thiswarrantydoesnotcover the following: (1)consumableandnormalwear items, including,withoutlimitation,flameguides,grates,coalbars,afterburnerhoods,firebrick,gaskets,paint,glassdiscoloration,burnpothousingweldments, burnpot grateweldments (pellet or corn), burnpot front plates (pellet or corn), burnpot front platelocks,cornaugerextensions,ceramicinserts,andceramicinsertplates;(2)noisecausedbyminorexpansion,contractionormovementofparts; (3)damage resulting from: (i) failure to install,operateormaintain theProductaccording to theinstallationandoperatinginstructionsandlistingagentidentificationlabelfurnishedwiththeProduct;(ii)failuretoinstalltheProductaccordingtolocalbuildingcodes;(iii)shippingorimproperhandling;(iv)abuse,misuse,continuedoperationwithdamaged,corrodedor failedcomponents,accident,or incorrectlyperformed repairs; (v)environmental conditions,inadequateventilation,negativepressureordraftingcausedbytightlysealedconstruction,insufficientmake-upairsupply,orhandlingdevicessuchasexhaustfansorforcedairfurnacesorothersuchcauses;(vi)useoffuelsotherthanthosespecifiedintheoperatinginstructions;(vii)installationoruseofcomponentsoraccessoriesnotsuppliedwiththeProductorauthorizedandapproved inwritingbyHHT; (viii)modificationof theproductnotexpresslyauthorizedandapprovedbyHHTinwriting;or(ix)interruptionsorfluctuationsofelectricalpowersupplytotheProduct;(4)non-HHTcomponentsoraccessoriesused inconjunctionwith theProduct; (5) theProducts’capability toheatadesiredspace; information isprovidedtoassisttheconsumerandthedealerinselectingtheproperProductfortheapplication;considerationmustbegiventoProductlocationandconfiguration,environmentalconditions,insulationandairtightnessofthestructure;or(6)additionalorunusualutilitybillsincurredduetoanymalfunctionordefectinProducts.
Limitations of Liability: Repairor replacement inaccordancewith theprovisionsof thiswarrantywillbe theowner’sexclusiveremedyforandwillconstituteHHT’ssoleobligationunderthiswarranty,underanyotherwarranty(expressorimplied),orincontract,tortorotherwise.Noemployee,agent,dealer,orotherpersonisauthorizedtogiveanywarrantyonbehalfofHHT.TOTHEEXTENTALLOWEDBYLAW,HHTMAKESNOOTHERWARRANTY,EXPRESSORIMPLIED,INCLUDINGANYWARRANTYOFMERCHANTABILITYORFITNESSFORAPARTICULARPURPOSE.HHTWILLNOTBELIABLEFORANYCONSEQUENTIALORINCIDENTALDAMAGESARISINGOUTOFDEFECTSINORUSEOFTHEPRODUCTS.Somestatesdonotallowexclusionsorlimitationofincidentalorconsequentialdamages,sotheselimitationsmaynotapplytoyou.Thiswarrantygivesyouspecificrights;youalsomayhaveotherrights,whichvaryfromstatetostate.Thedurationofanyimpliedwarrantyislimitedtothedurationofthewarrantyperiodspecifiedherein.

Cleaning Cycle MeterAcleaningcyclehourmeter (picturedbelow)keeps trackof the totalaccumulatedhours the feedermotor runs,notthe number of hours the unit is in operation.By knowingthisyoucankeeptrackofhowoftenyouneedtocleantheburnpotandheatexchangerwithyourbrandofpellets.Some recommended hourly intervals are:50hoursfortheburnpot.100hoursforacompletecleaning.Aftercleaningiscompleted,resetthehourmeterbypushingtheresetswitchlocatedintheupperlefthandcornerofthecontrol.

Whenburningwoodslowly,thepotentialexistsforcreosotetoform.Theventingsystemshouldbeinspectedperiodicallythroughout theheatingseason todetermine if a creosotebuildup has occurred. If a significant layer of creosotehasaccumulated(3mmormore),itshouldberemovedtoreduce the riskofachimneyfire. Ifafireoccurs,call thefiredepartment,shutdownthefurnace,andevacuatetheresidence.Before using the appliance, have the ventingsystem thoroughly inspected and replace any damagedcomponents.

Minimizing Smoke During Loss of Power Using Battery Back-upHarman® strongly recommends installing battery back-up to minimize entry of smoke into the room in the event of power loss.Yourpellet/biomassburningappliancereliesonacombustionblowertoremoveexhaust.A power failurewill cause the combustion blower to stop.Thismay lead to exhaustseepingintotheroom.Verticalriseintheventingmayprovidenaturaldraft.Itis,however,noguaranteeagainstleakage.Below are Harman® approved battery back-up options for your appliance:Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) UPSbatteryback-upsareavailableonlineoratcomputerandofficeequipmentstores:
