RULES & REGULATIONS

1. That all persons be admitted at the gate entrance as members of this society on the payment of Adult $5.00 , 12 and under $2.00. 2. Five percent (5%) of all prize money amounting to over five dollars ($5.00) will be withheld, except in classes where an entry fee is charged. 3. Entries may be made to the secretary, Ashley Black, by letter and should be made at least two days before the date of the show or by phone 566-2281 or e-mail [email protected]. The Secretary will be

at the Rink Sunday, July 14th for the purpose of taking entries. Entries close at 9:00 p.m. the day before the show, after 9:00 p.m. double entry fee will be charged. Telephone: Ashley 566-2281 or (Rink) 566-2243 4. Parties showing purebred stock must be prepared to produce to the Director In Charge, Certificate of Pedigree. 5. Names or marks indicating names of owners must not appear on anything exhibited. 6. All stock and articles exhibited must be bona fide and absolute property of the exhibitor from thirty days before the date of the exhibition or all prizes awarded to such exhibitors will be withheld. No partnership for the mere purpose of exhibiting the subject thereof, no ownership by several individuals who unite their properties to compete and exhibit shall be construed bona fide and absolute ownership. 7. Produce and manufacture must be delivered to the persons having charge of show rooms and grounds or be placed in their respective classes under their direction. 8. Not more than one article may be shown in any section by an exhibitor, except horses, cattle. 9. In the absence of competition, judges may award 1st, 2nd or no prize, according to the merit of the exhibit and shall have it in their power to withhold any premium for any animal or article which they consider unworthy of the same. 10. The Judges decision in all cases to be final. 11. No prizes shall be awarded in classes for homecrafts except for work that is the actual production of the exhibitor or family member. 12. The Directors cannot hold themselves responsible for loss or damage to exhibits. 13. NO REFUND ON SCRATCHED ENTRIES AFTER THE FAIR HAS STARTED. 14. The Directors reserve the right to pay prizes as shown in this prize list on a percentage basis in the event that the revenue of the Society is not sufficient to enable the prizes to be paid in full. LIGHT HORSE AND PONY SHOW 9 A.M. START GENERAL RULES 1. Stabling is limited and on a first come - first served basis. 2. A competent official may measure horses and ponies. 3. Judge has power to place horses and ponies in their respective classes. 4. NO CROSS ENTRY from pony to horse and vice versa. 5. Cross entry from English to Western PERMITTED. 6. Classes where conditions and entries warrant maybe combined or split. 7. KEEP STABLE AREA CLEAN! PLEASE CLEAN YOUR STALLS BEFORE YOU LEAVE, leaving straw and manure at end of barns for pickup. 8. Water will be available at the stable and washstands. 9. The area at the gate entrance to the ring MUST be kept clear. 10. Exhibitors are asked to refrain from foul and abusive language in and around the stables and the show ring. 11. Ages determined as of January 1st of the calendar year. 12. All exhibitors should be neatly and appropriately dressed before entering ring. 13. All exhibitors will remain in position until ribbons have been awarded. 14. The judge’s decision is final. 15. Entry fee of $2.00 for each class except M.G.R.A.. 16. There will be No Refund on scratched entries after the fair has started at 9:00 a.m. 17. The secretary will be on the grounds on Sunday to take entries. Call 566-2243 (rink). 18. The directors cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage. 19. The ORDER OF GO will be posted at the judge’s booth and available at the secretary’s table. Please inform the directors of any changes 20. BEEF CATTLE JUDGING TO COMMENCE AT 1:00 P.M. DIRECTORS: Melvin Black, Carole Black, Ashley Black, Frank Black GENERAL RULES; Limited to one entry per class, except that the fair may allow an exhibitor to have two entries per class for a minimum of two classes, these extra entries designated by the exhibitor as to where they will be shown. A minimum of two exhibitors in each class is required to qualify for prize money grants. Exhibitor to supply own hay, straw will be supplied. All cattle exhibited must be sired by a registered sire. Entry fee is 10% of first prize money. Deadline for entries will be 9:00 p.m. the evening prior to the fair. Double entry fee will be charged for entries in all classes paid on the day of the fair. PROVINCIAL QUILT COMPETITION RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Competition is open to all quilt exhibitors. 2. The judging criteria used for judging is included in the “Judging Standards” fair book. 3. 3. Quilts may be entered in three categories: hand quilted, self-guided (domestic, long

and mid arm) and computer aided. The entry must be completely quilted by the person submitting the quilt. No commercial quilting will be allowed (machine quilted by someone other than the exhibitor).

4. Quilts must have an appropriate title and give appropriate credit to pattern designer if not original.

5. Quilts must be at least 152 cm x 178 cm (60” x 70”) to be considered for the competition. 6. Quilt exhibitors must have a fabric quilt label attached to the bottom right corner on the

backside of their quilt. Labels must be covered at all judging levels.

7. Quilts must be delivered/packaged in a durable and labeled clear plastic bag for handling. 8. Pre-stamped or direct product of quilt kits will not be accepted; however “Block-of-the

Month” quilts, if not kitted, are eligible for the competition.

9. Quilters will sign a release form when the quilt is entered at the local event, giving the coordinating group permission to use pictures of the quilt and/or quilter in any type of promotional activity they deem appropriate.

10. A Score Sheet will be distributed to all Societies, which must be used to judge the quilts. Any quilt not scoring 70 or more points will not qualify for the District or Provincial Competition.

11. Each Society may select up to six quilts (2 hand quilted, 2 mid/long arm quilted and 2 computer aided)at their Fair to participate in the District Competition. Up to a total of six quilts will be chosen at the District Competition to go on to the Provincial Competition.

12. Exhibitors may enter more than one quilt in this competition. However, they may only have one hand, one self-guided and one computer aided quilt advance to the Provincial Competition.

13. Any quilt may be entered in competition at as many fairs as the exhibitor wishes. However, it may only represent the society where it was first entered in the provincial competition and won. The exhibitor must advise societies at the time of entry if the quilt is a winner at a previous fair.

14. If an exhibitor does not wish to participate in the provincial competition, the runner-up quilt with a score higher than 70 will be selected to represent the society in the district competition.

15. At the district level prize monies will be awarded for the top quilts in each category. At the provincial finals, there will be prize monies available in the Hand Quilted, Self-Guided and Computer Aided Categories.

16. ALL District Winners will be displayed at the Red River Exhibition in June, 2014 after which the quilts will be returned to the quilters.

17. Quilt owners are responsible for insuring their own quilts. The sponsors, societies and M.A.A.S. will not be liable for damage or loss.
