Last Friday 13 students from MHPS represented the Newcastle City Zone at the Hunter Region PSSA Athletics Carnival. They competed in the following events:

It was extremely wet which made conditions very difficult but all students showed great determination and sportsmanship. Emerson W, Matilda T and Laila A made it through to the finals in their 100m individual events. Three students gained a place in the Hunter Region team to compete at the NSW PSSA Athletics Championships in November at Sydney Olympic Park. Will H came 2nd in his 100m final, Gabriel A 1st in the 100m final, and Zara C came 2nd in the 1500m and 800m events. Fantastic efforts by all students. Well done! Mrs Lochrin

Invitations to our Orientation Day and the Kindergarten transition program have been mailed out. If you have not received yours, please contact the office. Orientation Day will be held on Thursday 12 September.

Last Friday we celebrated Father’s Day with our playground full of happy dads, uncles, grandfathers and even great grandfathers! Our parent volunteers cooked a delicious breakfast and even managed to keep the rain away for the morning! It was great to see everyone have such a lovely time.
