After the success of the first generation of NOTUS, the ZEEKO R&D team lead by Nicolas Caillou, designed a new complete range for 2010.

Small surfaces of NOTUS underwent an evolution whereas new surfaces appear (10m & 12m) even more successful. The range NOTUS LT is born to adapt itself to the needs of a more and more diversified public.

The shape of Notus is exclusive : it is nor a full delta design (too slow and to heavy in bar), nor a full bow kite (collapsing trouble), nor a classic C-shape (weak depower capability). The notus takes the best of each tendency to make the ultimate kite in the practice of kiteboarding.

bridling systemBridling system is the same on Notus and Notus LT. It is simplified to the maximum (only 3 attachment points by side instead of 5 or more for most kites on the market), decreasing the drag and giving you an unbeatable balance between reactivity and rigidity.

The bridle passing in the pulley was replaced by a new one, more resistant against frictions. Every part of the bridling system is specific in order to face all possible constraints.

trimming and behaviorIt is possible to modify the Notus handling adjusting the back bridle location. Connectors (1, 2 and 3 on the pictures) are fixed to modify quickly the behavior of the kite.

Moving forward the back bridle (connector 3), the kite settles down, ideal for riders in progress and unhooked training : the bar pressure increases to have more support and the over-sheeting is almost impossible.

Moving back the back bridle (connector 1), another kite appears : a handy kite, with light bar pressure, ideal for sportive navigation and waveriding. This is the favorite trimming of ZEEKO team for megaloops.

freestyle and freeride kiteNotus is the kite which made success of Zeeko for its first year. This kite with exclusive profile, gets among the most important power for low wind range on the market, remaining controllable in high wind range. The handling is immediate,Notus is one of the most accomplished kites of its generation.

One of the key points of Notus is its VERSATILITY. Successful in waves and freeride, the R&D team concentrated on its freestyle and unhooked performances. The kite adapts to your riding style, and allows to try all the tricks you want, in total safety.

UNHOOKED RIDING : no over-sheeting and the kites produces a constant traction.KITELOOPS : the kite "breathes" during the loop and resource at the end, allowing soft landing.FREERIDE : excellent up-wind ability.JUMPS : sheet in the kite and let plane : nothing easier with Notus. The handling is immediate whatever kite brand you had before. The incredible rigidity of Notus makes the kite reacts immediately to the bar movements, giving you a safe feeling and a comfort out of commun.

bar feelingThe bar feeling was studied to have a firm and progressive feeling, allowing to always know where is the kite without needing to look at it.

The ratio remains identical.

The work was made on an EVOLUTION of the previous version : adjustment of profiles and placements of struts. The kite has a more powerful and rigid profile.

It induces a more competitive kite for unhooked riding, with an improved recovery power in kiteloopS, getting a maximum comfort by strong wind.

7m - 9m7m - 9m

Every surface is separately thought and drawn to answer the specific constraints it imposes.

There are 2 new surfaces for 2010, each replacing respectively the 11m and the 13m.

This year we want to reduce the size of big kites to have the best compromise control / power for light and moderated winds. So the 10 and 12m are kite more entertaining, easier to handle and more reactive.

The 10m has a bigger ratio that the 11m 2009 = better handling and reactivity (bar pressure equivalent to the 9m 2009) for a low end power equivalent to the 11m of last year.

The 12m has a smallest ratio that the 13m 2009 = better handling for a low end power superior to the 13m of last year.

The 14m LW, a specific light wind kite, will be available in 2010. In 2009, it had already acted as revolution for the navigation by light wind and had really proved its efficiency. It will return at the beginning of 2010, delivered with 8m of lines extension, compatible with the Zeeko bar.

freestyle and beginner kiteNew this year in the gear ZEEKO, it is the consideration of the "beginners" or " in progress " request.

The answer of the team R&D is the NOTUS LT : a kite more adapted to learning.

Notus LT is like the young sister of the Notus.

The general shape remains identical, always to position between delta, bow and C-shape.

"LT" for LIGHT: only 4 inflatable struts, and no one-pump. It induces an easier starting than Notus : the kite is lighter and has a more powerful profile.

fiber slatsTo keep the same rigidity as Notus with only 4 struts. One fiber slat (replaceable) was added on the tips to avoid flapping during kite movements.

bar feelingThe kite has more bar pressure than Notus.

Piloting, less precise, forgives bar mistakes but stays firm. The kite reacts slowlier to the driver requests, to fit learning conditions.

Traction is more constant, ideal to learn low kite riding and unhooked tricks.

inflatingNotus has a new inflating system in one point, the most reliable on the market. It is possible to isolate struts and leading edge using clamps.

Notus LT does not benefit from this system to keep a light weigth. Inflating struts and leading edge separately. Struts are provided with anti-return to facilitate the inflating and a specific plastic piece to deflate them.

Inflating the kite is made from the INFLATE valve equipped with anti-return, whereas a simple DEFLATE valve allows a fast deflating.

All the range NOTUS and NOTUS LT takes advantage of an optimal manufacturing quality.This year, the R&D team has still brought a lot of improvements, to give the best solidity and safety for a kitesurf equipment.

reinforcements - constructionWe find the same manufacturing quality present on Notus in 2009, with improvements and details which make the difference.The kite possesses a maximum of reinforcements positioned in critical points : here we have a solid but light kite.It results in an unequalled stability, trademark of the R&D department for several years.

scratch pocketsVelcro pockets are placed inside each tip. This system allows to switch in flash from 24m configuration to 20m of lines. You only have to disconnect then to insert the lines extensions there. They are endowed with a Velcro which closes the pocket on all its length.

The use of these pockets for credit card and car keys is not recommended !

wind rangeThe wind range of the Notus kite is wide, we worked to deliver a kite with maximum of power in low end and an exclusive comfort in their high windrange ; indeed, we use smaller kites for the same given wind.On the other hand, with the Zeeko bar, it is possible to change with the lengthes of lines to increase this wind range.

Values for a 75 kg rider using with a 135x40 board.

TAKE CARE : these values are indicatives and depend on several parameters.

Shift the windrange by 3 knots per 15 kg.

Ex: For a 60 kg rider, the windrange of the 10m changes to 9 - 22 knots. For a 90 kg rider, the windrange of the 9m changes to 19 - 33 knots.

Easy Relaunching Assistant :Relaunching system removable present on the ranges Notus and

relaunchingThe shape of the kite allows to an easy relaunching under any circumstances.The narrow tips associated to a new curve of the leading edge helps relaunching. Pulling a back bridle is enough to relaunch the kite in light winds, more the kite positions automatically to the edge of the wind window, ready to be relaunched.

ACTIVATE THE E.R.A SYSTEM :The kite must be positioned in front of the rider, leading edge on the water. The bar must be released to sheet out the kite.

The kite revolves until the leading edge is turned to the sky, then relaunch immediately.

USE ZEEKO KITES WITHOUT THE SYSTEM E.R.A : - Remove the blue bridle of the trailing edge and insert it into

one of the Velcro pockets.- Connect the blue line over the loop of the back bridle, connect

the back line on this bridle, then squeeze the blue line over the knot.

E.R.A CONNECTION On the back of inflatable strut

Notus LT. At first developed on the special 14m LW light wind, the E.R.A completely proved its efficiency ; the R&D decided to apply it to the complete range. This revolutionary system allows to relaunch the kite in its very low windrange when pulling a back bridle is not enough.

It is enough at this moment to pull on the handle connected with the blue line E.R.A, near the bar.

The line E.R.A is going to pull itself on the strut with which it is connected, creating a hollow more important than that one of the kite, improving its useful wind profile.

The Zeeko bag, like all the Zeeko gear, takes advantage of an excellent finish. We have :- Belts to attach the pump, the bar and the board,- An internal Velcro pocket to put some pieces (keys, etc.),- 2 extensions allowing to lock up the kite with the swollen struts.

With that, we added a new zip for the central opening, for an easier insertion of the kite in the bag and guaranteeing a greater longevity.

Just one bar is convenient for all sizes of the Zeeko range.It can also adapt on the other kites on the market ; but they must have back and front lines of the same length.B e c a r e f u l : v e r i f y t h e compatibility of the anti-inversion systems of lines.

All the last innovations are combined on the exclusive Zeeko bar.

The 2010 Zeeko bar (optional) is supplied with the kites Notus and Notus LT, delivered with the E.R.A line (disconnectable).

general informationsThe Zeeko bar has a fine diameter for a better prehension.It is equipped with a new white grip drilled, optimized for a maximum of adhesion.The covered depower line was shortened : 54 cms > 46 cms.The left and the right are respectively differentiated in red and grey. We have the same color code under the bar, to recognize the right bar position when this one is above the head.If the bar is taken back to front (red grip in the right hand), then a logo "NO" is visible.

central bar pieceThe central bar piece is made in a mix of carbon / fiber glass / almoy. Its shape and the materials were chosen to decrease the bar friction and allows to sheet out and turn at the same time.

e . r . aThe exclusive system (removable) E.R.A is supplied with every Zeeko bar.To activate it, there is a handle over over connection back line/bar.

width of barThanks to this 2 regulations (50/55 cm), the Zeeko bar can be used with all kite sizes. The switch from a regulation to the other one is easy and fast.

The winders are built in a mix of carbon and fiberglass. The ends are rounded for a better feeling. A specific grip covers 50% of the winders. It allows to protect hands during radical tricks.

An elastic rope holds the lines when rolled on the bar and prevents unexpected tangling.

lines and extensionsDelivered with Cousin-Trestec high quality lines, it is possible to use the Zeeko bar with 20m or 24m of lines with the supplied lines extensions.With this 2 lengthes, you increase the windrange of kites. The various lengthes of lines allow to find the best feeling according to the riding conditions and the riding style of the rider :24m optimize jumps, power and stability whereas 20m facilitate waveriding, a most dynamic riding and a resistance in the strong wind very exceptional.

The switch from a configuration to the other one is fast with connection knots and velcros pockets situated inside each Zeeko kite tip. Lines have differents colors and kook proof connectors on back and front lines allows to avoid any connection mistakes.

adjustement strapA new strap even easier to regulate and more reliable comes to complete the Zeeko bar.

Here, webbings don't fly, we add velcros on the webbing loop in order to hold it after adjustements (see the pics).

safe lineThis kind of 5th line is made in an more strengthened material (Dynestar by Cousin-Trestec), resisting to very strong tensions and to the abrasion.

chicken loop systemIt is an exclusive chicken loop. A 3D moulded piece enables to automatically orientate the chicken loop inside the bar hole : it is always facing you during unhooked tricks, then you can rehooked easily.Thanks to this 3D piece you can also untwist the lines after several loops.Never these two properties were accessible on the same bar. The very reliable safety system can be release quickly with a velcro, useable for right-handers or left-handed persons.
