Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google. It is used by several smartphones and tablets. Examples include the Sony Xperia, the Samsung Galaxy, and the Google Nexus One.The Android operating system (OS) is based on the Linux kernel. Unlike Apple's iOS, Android is open source, meaning developers can modify and customize the OS for each phone. Therefore, different Android-based phones often have different graphical user interfaces GUIs even though they use the same OS.

HistoryIt was founded by Andy Rubin(employee of Google) in 2003, in a place called Palo Alto in California.Later, it was purchased by Google in august 2005The latest version of android is Nougat 7.0

One of the biggest changes in the new version is the introduction of Multitasking.

Now you can use more than one app in a single screen. switch between apps with a double tap the overview button.

The apps can be run together either side by side or one above the other with the split re-sizable using a central slider.

Android Marshmallow used a feature called ‘Doze’ to extend the battery life.

So, the device will still go into low power usage while you carry it in your pocket or purse.

Doze was first introduced in Android Marshmallow to save the battery life.

SvelteIn Android Nougat, Google has

introduced Project Svelte which is an effort to optimize the way apps run in the background.

The new project is focused on keep a check on background processing that needlessly consume RAM (and battery) and affect system performance for other apps.

which also stops apps from waking up each time a device’s network connection status changes

Finally, Android is coming up with Call Blocking Feature which will allow the user to block the number at the system level.

Once a number has been blocked in the system level, all other VoIP software like Messengers, Hangouts and other third party apps will automatically block the contact.

This new application has a simple interface. Go to the setting and you will notice new options like Caller ID & spam and Call blocking.

Google has introduced new Data Saver mode, it helps to reduce cellular data use by apps.

When Data Saver is turned on, apps in the background won't be able to access cell data.

Users will also get an option to select specific apps to run in the background and use data even when Data Saver mode is enabled.

Google has also redesigned notifications in Android Nougat.

Option to Rearrange your Quick Setting tiles so, you can get to what you want faster.

View and respond to messages directly from your lock screen, Includes the ability hide sensitive content for these notifications
