Introduction
Service panels run from detector end to end of support tube
X-section through service panels

• Power wires need to be cooled
• Opto boards must be kept below 20C
• Dedicated cooling loop
12 PPO Flex Boards connectElectrical cables from modules toOptical & electrical services

Nov. 8, 2001 M. Garcia-Sciveres -- PP0 & Service Panels 5
Technical Status: PP0 V.1
• First PP0 prototype fabricated Jan. 2001
• Rapidly became electrically obsolete
• Demonstrated folding technique to produce very long flex. Method works but,
• Yield is low & cost is high because surface area is large
Nov. 8, 2001 M. Garcia-Sciveres -- PP0 & Service Panels 6
Technical Status: PP0 V.2• Need second prototype to:
– Continue service integration work– Prepare for system test
• Module connector pinout specified• HV on separate connector decided• Will use micro-welded aluminum ribbon instead
of folded flex cable • Waiting for Opto-board power requirements to be
decided
