WHAT ARE DATA DRIVEN COLLABORATIVE RESPONSE TEAMS?
o Data Driven Collaborative Response Teams are interdisciplinary groups of teachers who teach the same group of students and share a common planning time.
o Systematically integrate student data into regular team discussion of academic and behavioral successes and challenges of students on their team.
o Personalize the learning environment and improve instruction by ensuring frequent and informed coordination around student interventions, curriculum, and classroom management and instruction.
LEADERSHIP TEAM INITIATES PROCESS BY COMMUNICATING
VISION. o Ninth grade is a pivotal year where students
find themselves struggling to navigate what they perceive to be a large, impersonal, and competitive environment.
o Teacher teaming model provides teachers with greater opportunities for collaboration, curriculum and instruction design, and to gain insights from their peers.
o Creates a more personalized learning environment to better meet the needs of students.
o Enhances communication between teachers and parents.
LEADERSHIP SELECTION o Prior to selecting the leaders, the
administrative team should have serious discussions about specific qualities/characteristics that potential candidates should possess.
o Administrative team/Curriculum leaders identify and meet with 8-10 potential team leaders and plan is modified according to the unique needs of students/school.
MASTER SCHEDULE IS CREATED
MEETING FORMAT Teacher teams meet for approximately 20
minutes during each planning period. Teachers discuss common students’
academic performance, behavioral observations, and any other relevant data that impacts student performance.
Parents/Support partners are contacted with regard to the information discussed in the meeting and recommendations are made in accordance with the needs of the student(s) being discussed.
ELECTRONIC DATABASE• The meeting minutes/parent contacts are
logged into an electronic database for recordkeeping and accountability
• Stores content area evaluations • Solicits future teacher interventions• Requests follow up on progress • Easily accessible for further interventions by
counselors or administrative team

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MEASURES
o Team leaders meet with Administrative Team monthly to discuss student/team progress and share best practices.
o Student data is frequently monitored and plans are modified according to needs of students.
o “Data Binders” enhance data driven collaborative response team process.
