Mark your calendars! WCE will be hosting its Fall Scholastic book fair November 17 th through 21 st in the library. There are so many good books to choose from, your reader will not want to come home empty handed. Hours are from 8:00am to 4:00 pm every day except Friday ( breakdown begins at 1:30). There will be NO late night shopping. We are encouraging parents, grandparents and other family members to shop while they are here for Thanksgiving Feast (11/20) and Turkey Trot (11/21). Can’t make it to one of those events? We also have an online book fair! Our online fair starts November 17 th and runs through December 5 th . Orders will be delivered before school lets out for the holidays. Visit http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/willow creek to see hours, events, and shop online. Book fair proceeds are used to buy new materials for the library and provide author visits and other special programming for the students. Be a Willow Creek Angel!!! This holiday season Willow Creek will mobilize to ‘serve the angels’. Each class will adopt two angels from Society of St. Stephens. What a wonderful opportunity to grant 58 children their Christmas dreams! We are asking that each student send in a small monetary donation ($5-$10) for their class angels. Donations must be received by Dec 5 so that gifts may be purchased and delivered to Society. Homeroom teachers will be collecting the donations. Once the gifts are purchased the homerooms will be shown what they are giving. Thank you in advance for your participation. Willow Creek’s Thanksgiving Feast will be Thurs, Nov 20. Meal tickets for adults and children will be $4.00. Willow Creek students must have money in their accounts on that day to buy lunch and student accounts may not be used to pay for guest meals. Tickets will be sold at the door for adults and non-Willow Creek children ONLY.

For planning and security reasons, please complete the form at the end of the Chronicle if you are planning to join us for lunch. (If you do not pre-register you will have to stand in line to be signed into ‘the system’.)

No Tardy dance party

It is important to arrive at school by 8:05 every day. Students are encouraged to arrive by 7:50 so they can begin unpacking and preparing for a successful day. All students that have less than 3 tardies this 9-weeks will be allowed to participate in the No Tardy Dance Party in December!

The Girl Scouts 9520 Troop at Willow Creek are Catching Kindness by helping others. They will be conducting a book drive to support the Humble Area Assistance Ministries. Clean out your old children’s books at home and bring to school the week of November 17th!!!

G/T Testing – Kindergarten Initial assessment of all kindergarten students for the Gifted and Talented (G/T) program will take place between October 20 and November 21. If a student qualifies to take the achievement test, a parent referral and consent form will be sent home. The second test will take place between January 8 and January 30, 2015. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement of kindergarten students in the G/T program by February 6, 2015, with services to begin on February 23, 2015.

G/T Referral and Testing – Grades 1-12 Any students new to Humble ISD and in grades 1-12 may be referred for the Gifted/Talented (G/T) program between November 10 and November 14, 2014. Parents or teachers may refer students for testing. If you would like to refer your child, please request information from our receptionist, Natalie Walters Students in grades 1-12 are eligible to test for the Gifted/Talented program after a referral is received. All testing will take place on our campus during a window between January 8 and January 30, 2015. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement in the G/T program by February 6, 2015, with services to begin on February 23, 2015.
