Hello everyone!
It‟s been quite some time but I‟m back for the second volume of CKI‟s newsletters!
The curtains have closed for the month of November and we are applauding
CSUN CKI‟s progress. This month, we had many events, including a Membership
Induction Ceremony, a celebratory event in which we officially welcome all of our
new members this semester. Our family is continuing to grow and we all look
forward to even more new members in the future.
Besides this month, the fall semester is also coming to an end. As we make way to
December, let us wish all of our members the best of luck on their share of
academic workload! Good luck on your finals everyone!

Fall training conference was
an amazing new experience for all of us first
timers. I have gotten closer to my division and my
home club.
The workshops and atmosphere
inspired me to work
harder for the remaining
of my term.

NOVEMBER 9
Like any other month,
a Divisional Council Meeting is held.
This is a great chance to be updated with
the activities of other schools that
belong in the same division.
7
8
This is also a
chance to sneak a peak at
a fellow club‟s vision or plans for
the future!
It was that time of year
once again!
CSUN CKI participated
in their second
Masquerade Ball!
The Masquerade Ball took
place in the San Diego Harbor
where attendees experienced a
night on the Inspiration Horn
Blower, the largest yacht in all of
Southern California.
This semi-formal event was a
fundraiser to raise money for the
PEDIATRIC TRAUMA PROGRAM.
This is a great way to raise
money because while you are
enjoying yourselves, you are raising
money for a program that helps
prevent unintentional injuries to
children.
You can count CSUN CKI in
for next year!

Masquerade Ball was a blast!
I'm usually a wallflower when it comes
to dancing, but at MBall,
I boogied down like there was no
tomorrrow (awkwardly of course).
I „m glad I was able to spend some
bonding time with my club as well as some others!

I had a great time at the
Masquerade Ball with my CSUN CKI family.
It was a memorable night because we danced
the night away while on a
boat.
” The boat itself was awesome and
had an amazing view of the harbor that was surrounded
by lights and a bright moon to top it off.

NOVEMBER 18
What‟s a hiking day without
some unwanted rain? Upon arrival,
CSUN Circle K‟ers were greeted with strong rain
that only gave us the opportunity to check out the
Griffith Observatory together before we
took on the challenge of hiking.
Not a problem,
we always have room for BONDING!
Not only were we able to bond even
more with our own members, we were glad to
have CKI members from El Camino College as well
as CSU Long Beach present at our hike!
This just goes to show that CKI goes far and
beyond our own campuses. Friendships are formed
with other schools!
After the hike, we all enjoyed a
satisfying Korean BBQ social that compensated
for the workout!
11
My overall experience
with Circle K at the hike
was pretty amazing.
The best part about the day
was the Korean BBQ. With my energy
drained from the hike, I truly enjoyed the
unlimited Korean food.
I got to see astounding views
of the Los Angeles County
and also connect with Circle
K members from other
schools.

NOVEMBER 20
It is undeniable that
CSUN CKI had grown quite a bit
in the past year.
Membership numbers had increased and
what‟s a better way to celebrate such
accomplishment than to welcome the
new members to the club, division,
The MI Ceremony was all about welcoming as well as
recognizing new members for taking the step to becoming a
part of an amazing club with so many
things to offer.
We were honored to have special guests at our MI Event:
Irene Ellefson & Bob Ellefson, Members of Northridge Kiwanis

district, as well as the organization by having a
LET‟S MAKE WAY FOR . . .
CSUN CKI will be trying out the family system this year
in which older members of the club will be the “Bigs”
and will be the head of a family composed of a few
of the newer members, who will be called their
“Littles”. This type of system only reinforces even more
strongly the familial relationship CSUN CKI has already
achieved in such a short amount of time.
Our family has definitely grown!

CSUN CKI participated in the Fill the Truck
event in order to help the homeless. Fill the Truck
is a clothing drive in which donations of clothes
are made to the
HOPE OF THE VALLEY RESCUE MISSION. Clothes were distributed to the homeless living on
the streets.
Excess donations are sold at their thrift store in
order to raise money for future programs that aim
to continue helping the homeless.
