Get Involved in Your Living Learning Community!
Do you live in North, South, or Commons? Then chances are, you live in or near a living learning
community (LLC)! LLCs provide a great way for you to connect with other students with the same
interests. Plus, faculty and staff across the university provide you with extra support! Just last month, the
Lewis College of Business LLC had an awesome pumpkin carving social that brought together
business alumni, advisors, and students. The College of Health Professions hosted extra nights of advising
support right in the residence halls. And, if you’re looking for help during registration, some of your
advisors might just be in the hall late at night, ready to help. Just see your RA if you are interested in
getting more involved in your LLC!
Do you have a place to go for Fall or Winter break? If not, Marshall University provides break housing for any student who currently lives in the Residence Halls. Students in First Year North and South do NOT need to fill out break housing applications. What to do if you need to stay on campus Fall break? Complete a Break Housing application.
These forms are available at the front desk of your residence halls, online, and at the Department of Housing and Residence Life.
There is no charge to stay during Fall Break.
Applications are due to Housing and Residence Life by Monday, November 12th.
The TTE & TTW will stay open to accommodate those who need housing. If you currently live in one of the Towers then you may request to stay in your permanent assignment. If you have a room that you would like to stay in, please indicate that on the form. Otherwise, a room will be assigned to you.
We also offer break housing during the Winter Holiday.
There is a charge per day during the Winter Break. Price will be given on application. Charges do not apply to First Year North and South residents.
Applications for Winter break are due to Housing and Residence Life by Friday, December 7th.
The residence halls close Wednesday, December 19th at noon
They will reopen on Sunday, January 13th at 9:00 a.m.
If you have questions regarding break housing, please contact Terry Anderson at 696-6765.

Congratulations! You made it through midterms! I hope that many of you are proud of your suc-cesses! If you had a rather rough set of midterms, remember that you have so many resources available to you to help you with academics. Go talk to your RA! Many of them have programs planned to help you learn how to study better, manage stress, and manage time. The Student Re-source Center also offers a number of workshops that can help you come out on top this semester. Don’t forget you can always visit tutoring services and your professors office hours for help, and if that seems too much, try and create a study group for your class in your residence hall! Good luck! We know you can do it!!

“Falling” Head First into November
October was such a great month for Marshall University
and Twin Towers West. Not only have our campus squirrels
come out to play, but also the trees are finally showing their
vibrant autumn hues! In October, Jonathan Doak co-hosted an
LLC program for the business community that had 26 resident
attendants and faculty participation! Great job, Jonathan! The
RA’s have been working very hard to plan exciting programs
for November, so make sure to note the “Save the Date”
section to find out what fun events are coming up!
