Technology Overview

• Business Model: Develop tele-health and interactive care add-ons for existing EMR and Healthcare Information Systems. Through a PaaS technology, we will be able to develop a software offering that allows for the integration of data from healthcare devices and applications into existing EMR systems, as well as create an API Blackbox that allows for mHealth start-ups and softwares to integrate their existing product offering functionalities into the major systems used by a majority of healthcare providers.

• Technology Idea & Market Incentives: Develop innovative healthcare technologies for seamless EMR integration that align with the Meaningful Use and Patient Engagement Framework requirements. By developing software that aligns with MU and the Patient Engagement framework, EMR systems will have the incentives to license the functionalities for their platform in order to receive certification for their software’s clients.

• PaaS- EMR customers will be able to pick and choose the functionalities that they would like to integrate into their existing system, and release to their customers. All functionalities of the platform will have the option to be sold off as individual functionalities.

• Marketplace Position- Gateway for interaction between consumer-facing medical technologies as major healthcare information systems. The collaboration of these two technologies will allow for medical providers to access data generated remotely by their patients--and use this information to increase patient engagement and patient care.

Company Platform Elements & PE Framework/MU Alignment

• Doctor-To-Doctor Video Messaging (“Curbside MD”)- Doctors have the ability to post their video messaging questions through a “curbside” sharing platform that is accessible through their EMR system. The network would be designed to increase patient care by granting medical providers the access to spec

• Consumer-Centric Device Data Integration- The ability for medical providers to view the data collected from their patients medical devices and healthcare data applications through their existing EMR system. To accomplish this goal, strategic partnerships would be established with the healthcare technology applications and devices, as well as leaders in the EMR field.

• Remote Patient Monitoring- A major focus of the platform would be the ability to remotely monitor patients and their medical data, to ensure that they are following with care plan compliance.

• Patient Engagement Platform- The features developed inside of the platform would align with the Patient Engagement Framework-- The Patient Engagement Framework for MU3 would be the initial development inspirations, and the platform would allow EMR systems to integrate these requirements seamlessly into their offering’s back-end.

• Platform Element Overview: Platform Functionality: HIPAA-Compliant Doctor-To-Doctor Video Messaging w/ ability to charge for medical expertise and/or receive ratings for the peer-generated medical reviews platform.

Concept: Doctor posts a question for “Curbside” comment, and receives a variety of responses from individuals who are specialists in the field of interest.

Once the question has been posted, there will be an opportunity for these specialists to post video responses to the initial Curbside question. After a designated response time (possibly by the end of the day), the initial poster will choose the response which best answers the initial question.

Upon choosing the “verified response” to the question, the post will be available for future reference. The original poster will be able to provide the responder with an accurate medical rating. This rating will then be used as the provider’s “medical rating” that can be licensed to web-based doctor rating sites like Vitals, etc.

TeleHealth Group Therapy: Hosting A Group Therapy Session via EMR System

• Patient-To-Patient Messaging- Ability for patients in the group therapy session to provide each other with "support" through HIPAA-complaint private messaging.

• Would want to have a lot of restrictions on patients ability to receive messages. Would need to know that they have the option to receive messages under their encrypted name.

• Classroom-Like Setting- Ability for patients to raise their hand, and participate in the group in a positive way (while enhancing their own personal care)

• Powerpoint & Slide Downloads- Therapy-provider will provide powerpoint and session resources available for download.

• Ability To Track Individual Patient Progress via Group Therapy Sessions- Integrate patient profiles & engagement metrics to determine the level of engagement

• Ability for each participant in the group therapy section to have the ability to cam & mic themselves into the group therapy session- Ability to directly message (HIPAA-Compliance) the provider of the group therapy session.

EMR Add-Ons To Develop: Meaningful Use Stage 2

• Pregnancy Tracking Integration- Collaborate with leading consumer-facing healthcare technology applications such as Glow

• Fitness Tracking- Create partnerships with major “wearable device” manufacturers to integrate patient data into existing EMR and PHR systems. These collaborations would allow medical providers to overview patient activity, remotely monitor their activity, and prescribe activity plans for which they can monitor patient adherence.

• Healthy Eating Tracking- The healthy eating tracking will be combined with the data that is collected from popular diet tracking applications. These applications are collecting a high-volume of patient data regarding food consumption, but are not offering feedback to the patient’s medical provider. By integrating this data into the Patient PHR,

• Care Plan Management- Ability for medical providers to assign a care plan, and remotely monitor if the patient is following the plan. The care plan management module of the platform will be designed to not only offer patient’s a highly-organized method for managing their care, but also provide feedback to their medical providers.

•Care Plan Management- This feature could be sold like a patient portal to major health clinic

groups. •Appointments- Tagging/Categorizing appointments to align with care plan management •Medication Care Compliance- Tagging medications with specific care plans and automatically

reporting compliance statistics to that care plan compliance report for review by the patient’s

physician.

• Online Nurse- Development of the online nurse tool to integrate into a patient-facing EMR.

• Virtual Coaching- Development and brainstorm of virtual coaching tool required.

• Advanced Care Plan Management- The ability to have a care plan diagnosed through the provider’s EMR system that can be accessed through the web or mobile site, and have accurate reporting back to the provider on whether or not the care instructions have been followed.

• Advanced Secure Messaging- Integration of video messaging capabilities into industry-standard messaging portal.

• Patient Generated Data- The integration of data from medical applications and technologies would cover the requirements for patient generated data.

Nike+ Data Patient Profile Data IntegrationActivity Data: The activity data from the patient’s wearable devices will be accessible through their patient profile via the doctor’s EMR system. Doctors would be able to “request” for permission to access their patients’ wearable data, which would then seamlessly sync into their EMR system that the provider is using to record their patients’ information.

Medical providers would be able to reference the activity data for care plan management and compliance, as well as observe trends in the patients’ activity that could be related to their disease, or a symptom of a medical condition that should be further monitored by medical professionals.

HealthEScore

• Development of algorithms that will create standardized "health scores" for which patients can gain a look at their overall health by reviewing the analytics behind their score.

Objective: People are going social with their healthcare data. They are generating massive amounts of healthcare data through devices, applications, and recording systems. HealthEpatient will create a management system.

Goal: Have the largest market share of the health data management marketplace.

Score- You’ll be able to track your score, and it will go up and down based on the data that is produced from your medical devices and applications.

Buying the product- You’d be able to have the points based on nutrition facts. -Certain products will lower your score (like weight watchers)

Determining the score: Running a mile would give you a difference of a little bit to give you an immediate reaction. The score would have a gamification model, providing incentives for your exercising but not necessarily having a dramatic effect on the impact.

Factors to incorporate in exercise score: How long your workout was, how intense your workout was, how many calories you burned depending on what you ate that day, how many workouts you have done in the last 7 days. Give them a score when they complete their workout, and then it would change their overall score depending on their activity, etc. for the next 24 hours.

People would be wanting to change their score, and they would have the comparisons to change their score.

Basic Profile: You’d be able to have a basic profile, based on your age, height, weight, BMI. Once you have your basic profile, you would then incorporate the apps and get more information about your health score.
