Tim’s Tidings
Every month is important in the life of a church, some immensely so.
This month falls into the latter category.
This November we are doing three very important things
that require your participation to be successful.
On November 9 at 6:00 p.m. Eastminster Session
is hosting a Dessert and Town Hall Meeting to
discuss the long term future of the church. The
recent church survey will be Interpreted and a
digest of remarks from the Stewardship Home Groups will be pre-
sented. There will be time for prayer and discussion. Your wis-
dom is needed as we discern God’s will for the future together.
Consecration Weekend is November 12-13. This is a time in
which we bring our Estimates of Giving for 2017 to be conse-
crated. It is the intention that all our ministry and mission en-
deavors in 2017 will be funded by member giving. Your good
faith “Estimates of Giving” allow our leaders to plan. It is pro-
jected that there will be a moderate increase in the budget that
will require coverage, but the bottom line is that we give to God
not the church, and we give out of gratitude not compulsion.
Watch for further information from the Stewardship Team and an
Estimate of Giving Card which will be mailed in the next few
days.
The Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon will be held on October 13
at 11:00. Chef Chris is preparing a traditional Thanksgiving meal
for the entire congregation. Persons from both services will
unite to say “Thanks God!” together. Members who have joined
in the last year will be welcomed and honored as will senior
members of our church. No reservations are required.
As we plan for the future and as we thank God today I
ask that you keep the church and its leaders in your
prayers. As we pray, attend worship regularly and give
generously, God will continue to use Eastminster to bring
hope to a hurting world.

Outreach Welcome
2016 Stewardship Home Groups
Over the past several weeks “home groups” formed and met in the homes of some wonderful hosts. There is one more chance to be involved in getting your voice heard and hearing the presentation from stewardship and strate-gic planning. Join us on No-vember 6th following worship for time of fellowship, prayer, discernment, listening, and asking questions.
We hope that every worship-per will commit to attending one of the Home Groups to share the discernment pro-cess and lend wisdom to the shaping of our future togeth-er. The results of the surveys and the wisdom coming from the Home Group meetings will guide our planning ef-forts in the year 2017 meetings will guide our planning efforts in the year 2017 and beyond.
Dorcas Ministry—Rotating teams provide food, serve, or clean up following memorial service receptions
Ushering—a great way to meet people—5-6 people teams are assigned to serve every three months, handing out bulletins and taking up the offering
Daily Bread—serves meals monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month—from 10:45—2:00
Committee Member—Committees meet first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.—affords an opportunity to join a committee of your choice
Communion—help to prepare the sacraments for Sunday communion services
Groundskeeping/Gardening—if you like to work outside, this is a terrific way to help keep our campus looking beautiful
Stephen Ministry/His Hands—caring individuals reaching out to others in need.
Counters—assist the team each Monday morning with counting and posting the weekend contributions
Extending Our Welcome Take time to extend a welcome to those who you don’t recognize. They may be a visitor or a long time member. We are a family of God and part of being a family is relationships. Those relationships that we al-ready have are built overtime. Our visitors are looking for people, like you, to connect to so that they may be a part of a church family, or even the Eastminster family of God. KIDS Connect
During worship on Saturday night and Sunday morning kids connect with scripture through games and art. This time is during the sermon so that kids can connect with the family of God in worship.
We are continuing with the Fruit of the Spirit series. This month the ‘fruit’ of our labor will be seen in worship. Look forward to a tree being in worship soon.
SPIRITUAL FORMATION TEAM - Want to learn about how the Holy Spirit works? Then join the Spiritual Formation Team on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month from 10-11:30 as we explore new methods of prayer and attentiveness that will revive your soul. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY Now is a good time to join the Prayer Shawl Ministry Team. If you don’t have needles or yarn we can supply them. Almost 240 people braved the rainy day We wondered if there would be more or fewer people on the Tuesday following the hurricane. In fact, there were fewer; many new faces and many usual ones not seen. There were 220 grateful people who were served by Jan Glenn, Donna and Bob McKnight, Evelyn Sepanik, Ronnie Roberts, Barbara Ray and Barbara Allen. Men’s Monthly Saturday Breakfast
November 12th-The Men of the Church will meet for breakfast Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 8:00 am in the church Fellowship Hall. The speaker will be Dr. Robert P. Dunne, Po-diatrist. We can assume he will be speaking about feet. Dr. Dunne is a board certified Podia-tric Surgeon; he is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He served his residency at Mountain Veteran’s Association in Tennessee followed by his preceptorship in Miami, Florida. Dr. Dunne is married to Kara (27 years) the father of four children (three sons and a daughter girl). In addition to being active in his church he enjoys fishing, boating and football. His practice, Lake Washington Foot and Ankle Center, is located at 2717 N. Wickham Road in Melbourne. Grab a neighbor and/or a friend and come out and have breakfast with the Men of the Church on Saturday, November 12. Remember to PLEASE SIGN UP for the breakfast in or-der we know how much food to prepare. You may sign up before or after worship service or by calling the church office.

WHAT IS THE PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
The Prayer Shawl knits or crochet’s 2x5 feet shawls for those in medical, physical, or spiritual need. The members pray while they are working on the shawl or Prayer Square 3x3 inch for the person that will receive them. Pastor Tim or Pastor Ralph will give the shawls to members or friends of the church in hospital, nursing homes, or the home bound. Please let them know of someone that you think would gain a spiritual blessing in receiving one.
LADIES NIGHT OUT--This Monday, Nov. 7 from 6:30—
9:00 p.m. Meet at the church for a sunset picnic on our
Riverside Park. At the close of the evening we will pray for
hope and healing in our country as the elections draw to a
close.
Please bring an appetizer/dessert or beverage to share.
It’s a great way to decompress, meet new friends, and enjoy

Nov. 6 ALL SAINTS SUNDAY -On Sunday November 6th we will remember those “Saints” who have entered
eternity before us, and we will celebrate communion in the assurance of the Lord who brings us all
“home”.
Nov. 9 TOWN HALL MEETING- Session has called a Town Hall meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Novem-
ber 9th for the purpose of reporting on the recent church survey and the feedback received in home Steward-
ship groups. Come contribute your thoughts to the future direction of Eastminster. Dessert will be served.

Nov.12-13 CONSECRATION WEEKEND- A high point in the life of our church is the dedication of our estimates
of giving to fund Eastminster’s Mission and Ministry in the coming year. We will consecrate the estimates
of giving during both weekend services and give thanks together with a Celebration Luncheon Sunday at
11:00 am.
