TO AIR THANKSGIVING NIGHT ON PBS
ANNE OF GREEN GABLES – THE GOOD STARS, will air on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 23, at 7 PM on WTVP. The iconic Canadian literary classic returns to PBS after the successful Thanksgiving 2016 pre-miere, which reached more than 3.2 million viewers. The third installment, ANNE OF GREEN GABLES – FIRE & DEW, will premiere in 2018 on PBS.
In ANNE OF GREEN GABLES – THE GOOD STARS, Anne Shirley turns 13 and faces complex situations with friends, learns from inspirational adults and experiences an escalating friendship with Gilbert. Her free-spirited nature is challenged by her perceived need to be sensible, a journey fraught with confusion and some unfortunate — albeit amusing — mishaps.
This second installment, written and directed by John Kent Harrison, will once again star critically acclaimed actor Martin Sheen as Matthew Cuthbert, along with the return of Ella Ballentine as Anne Shirley and Canadian treasure Sara Botsford as Marilla Cuthbert.
Additional cast members include Julia Lalonde (“Catch a Christmas Star”) as Diana Barry, Kate Hennig (“ThirtyTwo Short Films About Glenn Gould”) as Rachel Lynde, Stefani Kimber (Remember) as Josie Pye, Drew Haytaoglu (“Looks Just Like the Sun”) as Gilbert Blythe, Kyle Gatehouse (Source Code) as Mr. Phillips and Linda Kash (Cinderel-la Man) as Mrs. Barry.
ANNE OF GREEN GABLES – THE GOOD STARS, will air on Thanksgiving night, Thursday, November 23, at 7 PM on WTVP.
ANNE OF GREEN GABLES that premiered last Thanksgiving will rebroadcast on Saturday, November 25, at 2:30 PM

Meet The Mayors of Shiprock - that’s what some people call The Northern Dine Youth Committee. These young Navajo leaders meet every week to learn about their Native culture, discuss community improvements, and work to bridge divides within their community.
AMERICA REFRAMED: On a Knife EdgeTuesday, November 7th at 7 PM
On a Knife Edge is the coming-of-age story of a Lakota teenager growing up on South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Reservation. The film traces George Dull Knife’s path to activism, inspired by his family’s long history of fighting for justice for Native Americans.

APRIL 19 - 22, 2018
SAVE THE DATES…TO WATCH, BID & BUY!
It’s time to gear up for the 2018 Annual WTVP Auction! Coming your way for the 45th year is WTVP’s special fundraising and long-standing community event which will feature fabulous merchandise from area businesses, certificates to local restaurants, and travel packages to your favorite places. Support your public television station by volunteering to make this year’s auction a great success. We can’t do it without you! Mark your calendar now for April 19-22 to join in the fun and plan your participation by becoming a cash sponsor, merchandise donor, or part of our volunteer team. For more information, please call the WTVP Auction Office, 309-495-0547.
Giving Tuesday is right around the corner and WTVP is participating! On Tuesday, November 28th #GivingTuesday will celebrate a day of global giving that makes a big impact on us locally, at WTVP.Doubling the excitement, the Newman’s Own Foundation will gener-ously match all new donations to WTVP. Simply put, if you donate $100, your gift becomes $200! A donation to #GivingTuesday is an investment in the future of public media in Central Illinois. Making a difference in ensuring that outstanding educational media will always be available to our community through WTVP!
To donate today, please visit our website wtvp.org and click on the donate button.
INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF PUBLIC MEDIAEach year, many WTVP supporters make a special gift to the WTVP Endowment Fund. Since 1984, this important long-term investment has grown to over $1.5 million! The Endowment Fund represents the long-term savings and financial stability for WTVP. Invested conservatively by the Board of Trustees, part of the earnings of the WTVP Endowment Fund supports the special operations or capital needs of the station. We are most grateful for the confidence and support of all Endowment donors, and espe-cially to the anonymous donors who pledged to match the first $10,000 raised! By donating to the endowment today, your dollars will be doubled! If you would like to support WTVP and have a long-term impact on our future, please call the WTVP Development Office at (309) 677-4747.
WTVP gratefully accepts gifts by will or bequest. For additional information or to notify us of your intentions, please contact Colleen Runkle 309-495-0525
