Parent-teacher conferences are currently being scheduled for the evening of Novem-ber 14th to provide you the opportunity to arrange a meeting with your child(ren)’s teacher. A letter was sent home earlier this week seeking your preference of times to meet. Please return to your child’s teacher the slip indicating your preference for times to meet This is the perfect time to set goals with your child for the remainder of this term. Post the goals in a visible spot such as on the fridge. Working together as a collaborative team will allow us to best support your child’s learning needs.

Start your child's day off by coming to breakfast club ever Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:25am-
8:50am. This is our fourth year providing Breakfast club here at the school and it’s well established and very
popular. There is a great atmosphere and is a place where children can meet with their friends before school
and enjoy a healthy breakfast together. You can drop your children off anytime after 8:25 am and we close
breakfast club promptly at 8:50am. Looking forward to seeing some new and familiar faces this coming year

Glendale Library Looking for Outdoor chair cushions!
Hey families....the new floor of our school library looks amazing! With the carpet gone, Mrs. Perry is
looking for donations of outdoor square chair cushions to be used for seating
in the library. Any colour (please no white) of cushion is happily accepted. Please only donate "SQUARE" cushions so they can be easily stacked when not any use.
The Jr/Inter choir has started! We are practicing songs for the Glendale Remembrance Day Assembly and for the Glendale Christmas Concert. There is still time to join. If you are interested come see Mrs. Perry.

We would like to build a large outdoor sandbox in our kindergarten play area. Donations of four 12 foot lengths of pressure lumber and four 4 foot lengths of pressure treated lumber is needed for this project. We are also looking for a piece of landscaping fabric for the bottom of the sandbox (to keep the weeds from growing up and the sand from falling out). Any handymen available to help would also be amazing! Please contact any of the kinder teachers or Mrs. Perry if you are able to make a do-nation of materials or time.
Help Needed for a Kindergarten Outdoor Sandbox!
Our Cross Country team competed on Thursday September 26th
at Memorial Park. The team ran hard despite the wet, cold and muddy conditions that day. Two of our runners; finished within the top 20 for their division, allowing them to move onto the Regional Meet at Fireman’s Park in Niagara Falls. Bianca R placed 22
nd and Kyra G placed 64
th out of 100 students throughout the DSBN in their age
division. Congratulations to all of our cross country members: Bianca R, Kyra G, Avery B, Aaron D, Darla R, Jaxon W, Jacob V, Hunter K,
Zoe T, Ava D, Olivia O, Jacob P, Eli D, Veylah W and Arianna R.

Our Glendale Remembrance Day Assembly will be Monday, November 11th, starting at 9:40, in the gym. The Jr./Inter. choir will be performing, classes will be presenting wreaths to honour soldiers from around the world and a message of peace will be shared. All families are welcome to join us as we recognize Remembrance Day.
There may be times during the school year where it may be necessary to cancel student
transportation due to adverse weather conditions.
NSTS gathers information on road and weather conditions from a wide variety of
sources, including Environment Canada, the bus companies, various municipal and re-
gional agencies and from staff performing checks on selected routes to experience the road conditions first hand.
NSTS considers the actual weather conditions, the forecasted weather and the projected impact on road conditions
during the peak student transportation windows. Once all available information has been collected and reviewed, and
it is determined that students cannot be safely transported to school, or home from school at the end the day, the deci-
sion to cancel student transportation is made by NSTS.
Every attempt is made to provide the public with information on bus cancellations by 6:00 a.m. The announcement will
be posted on the front page of the NSTS website, as well as on the website and social media of DSBN and Niagara Cath-
olic. Local radio and television stations are also notified to disseminate this information to the public.
The School Board's Director of Education makes the decision to cancel schools. School closure information is an-
nounced in the manner outlined above.
Please note that parents and/or guardians make the final decision on whether or not to send their child to school in
inclement weather conditions. Websites: www.dsbn.org, www.nsts.ca

Ontario has designated November 4-8, 2019 as Treaties Recognition Week with the goal of promoting education and awareness about treaties and treaty relationships. DSBN joins with other school boards across Ontario in encouraging schools to support learn-ing about treaties as an important aspect of our province’s history.
For more information on treaties, go to https://www.ontario.ca/page/treaties.
Mrs. Perry is still looking for Christmas trees, plastic tree decorations, large snowflake decorations and large snowmen lawn decorations. She is also looking for any volunteers, to help decorate the stage, the morning of the concert.
