Maranatha, is an Aramaic word which has been translated as “Come, Lord Jesus”. It was a common prayer the early Christians prayed, and it is our prayer every time we gather for the Eucharist. We pray that the transformative power of the Sacrifice of Christ, will em-power us to be builders of His Kingdom in our midst. Following the example of the characters in the scripture from last Sunday’s readings, with our many good actions, we won’t be far from the Kingdom of God.
With charity, repentance, hope, and all the blessings of our faith, we can confront the many problems of our world, longing for Christ’s coming to renew the world. The reasons for despair are many. It would be enough to pay attention to the headlines of the news. It’s no wonder that so many people down through the ages have cried out for Christ’s immediate return and prayed for a new, en-tirely different world.
But the reality is that “about that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
What we can count on, however, is that until the day in which we are one with God, we have hope in knowing that the end of history is in God’s hands. We have hope knowing that in the midst of all the chaos and heartache that surrounds us, the world is ultimately the creation of a loving parent. We have hope knowing that the goodness of Christ is greater than the brutality of violence. We have hope knowing that the world’s final destination is ultimately the boundless mercy of God.
In the trust of this mercy of God, abundant as it is, let us prepare our hearts to celebrate today’s Eucharist, and next week the national holiday of Thanksgiving. Around the table of the altar and around the dinner table at home, we will count our blessings, and will extend the providence of God to many, with our acts of love, assur-ing the continued growth of the Kingdom of God in our world. And so, we keep praying like the first Christians, Maranatha.
With my heartfelt gratitude, assuring my prayers and the prayers of the community, for the well-being of those traveling during the next days and weeks, I entrust your intentions to the mercy of God, Fr. Fabio
Ven Señor Jesús, fue una oración frecuente de los primeros cristianos. La repetimos en la Santa Misa, cuando pedimos que su reino venga a nosotros. Allí, en torno al altar, rogamos que la fuerza transformadora de la Eucaristía nos mueva a seguir construyendo el Reino de Dios entre nosotros. Y lo hacemos con la confianza de Bartimeo, con la generosidad de las viudas de las cuales nos contó la Palabra de Dios, el domingo pasado. De ellos aprendemos a dar y a darnos, pero al mismo tiempo nos abrirnos para recibir lo que Dios nos da. La situación de nuestro mundo no es fácil, muchos acontecimientos nos llevan a la desesperanza, y anhelamos la venida de Cristo. Aunque también, sabemos que “nadie conoce ni el día ni la hora…” del día final, “ni los ángeles el cielo, sino solo nuestro Padre Celestial”.
Sin embargo, de lo que, si podemos estar seguros, es de que, hasta el último día, la historia del mundo, nuestra historia personal, está en las manos de Dios. Y que, aunque vivimos en un mundo muy duro que nos hace doler el corazón por tanta maldad e injusticia, el mundo es la creación de un Dios amoroso.
Confiando en esta abundante misericordia de Dios, nos alegramos por el regalo de la Confirmación de 35 jóvenes de nuestra comunidad. Ellos han renovado su fe y han sido Ungidos por el señor Obispo, para que reci-ban los dones del Espíritu Santo. Sus vidas sin duda serán manifestación de esta gracia particular en la vida de sus familias, en la vida de nuestra comunidad, y en la sociedad en general.
Con este regalo, nos reuniremos en torno al altar y, en torno a la mesa familiar, para celebrar el Dia de Acción de Gracias. Allí, reconoceremos una vez más las gracias que recibimos a diario y expresaremos nuestra gratitud al dador de todo bien, Dios, nuestro Senor, y agradecemos a las personas que hacen posible tanta bendición en nuestras vidas.
Por eso seguiremos orando, como los primeros cristianos: ¡Ven Señor Jesús!

LATIN DINNER/CONCERT TO BENEFIT WYD 2019
The Pilgrims for WYD 2019 will have a Latin dinner on Friday, November 30 in the St. Peter's hall. The dinner will be Mexican food (Tamales, Mexican rice, pico de Gallo, chocolate and desserts) at the dinner there will also be a concert and the official presentation of the pilgrims to Panama. Cost is donation. Please give generously
On December, at the end of the 5pm mass, we will be selling dinner-to-go (tamales @ $15 per dozen; pico de gallo, and Mexican rice).

Parish Feasibility Study to Begin For well over a year our Parish has been studying and discussing facility needs. Our sense of Mission, the need to evolve and grow our Parish Family, and of course continuing to minister to our current Parishion-ers, has been at the forefront of this process. After considerable analysis, feedback from Parishioners, and prayer, a Master Plan has emerged along with a first step of proposed implementation. It is only a prelimi-nary design with many details yet to be flushed out. The design does, however, provide us a basic structure and estimated costs. The next step in the process is to conduct a feasibility study. A feasibility study welcomes everyone’s opinions and thoughts regarding the proposed plans. The goal of the feasibility study is to assess the overall support of the parish before determining if the work should move forward. The feasibility study involves obtaining feedback from Parishioners by either a personal confidential interview or completing a survey. All Parishioner feedback is confidential and only viewed by The Breton Group [see below] who will provide a summarized final report of all feedback to Parish Leadership. Your feedback, this report, will guide Leadership regarding the proposed plan and a potential capital campaign. Please, if possible, attend one of the Parishioner Meetings noted above to learn more about the proposed plans. Look for more details on the feasibility study in next week's Bulletin. Let us all continue to prayerfully reflect on the importance of our Catholic Community here in Douglas ensuring a strong presence in the future. The Breton Group, based in Grand Rapids has successfully partnered with over 400 Churches and non-profit organizations, helping to achieve fundraising goals, but also implementing campaigns that actually forward the organization's mission.

Se reparte la comida el martes 20 durante la tarde. Si alguien pidió comida, vengan entre 2– 6 p.m. para recogerla. Se pidió unas extras en caso de que alguien necesite pero no pidió.

La Misa del Día de Acción de Gracias
Jueves 22 de noviembre vamos a tener la Misa de Acción de Gracias
a las 10 a.m.
En ese día damos gracias por todas las bendiciones que hemos recibido
en el año que va terminando.
La Celebración de la Palabra para los Niños
Domingo 25 de noviembre vamos a tener la liturgia de
la Palabra para los niños a las 9 a.m. Debido a la salida
de Padre Daniel no va a ser la eucaristía.
Estamos preparando algo especial para los niños.
Esperamos tener algunas Misas de niños en el año
que viene.
La Consagración Mariana
El Sábado 8 de diciembre el Sr. Obispo Bradley va a
consagrar la diócesis al Inmaculado Corazón de María.
Comenzando el pasado 6 de noviembre estamos en un
tiempo de 33 días de preparación espiritual. Recen el
rosario para prepararse para esta consagración.
La Cena Latina
Viernes 30 de noviembre
en el Salón de San Pedro
a las 5 p.m.
Ofrecemos una cena de tamales, arroz, chocolate y
varios postres. Va a haber un concierto y la
presentación oficial de los peregrinos a la Jornada
Mundial de Jóvenes y una explicación de como
celebraron la otras Jornadas.
El día 1° de diciembre vamos a vender platos para llevar
con tamales, arroz y pico de gallo. Vamos a vender
después de la Misa de las 5 p.m. en San Pedro
(alrededor de las 6 p.m.)
La Corresponsabilidad Diaria
Cuando era niño mis papas me contaban de Elvis
Presley, el Rey del Rocanrol. Él recibió ese título a
través de sus aficionados por su gran influencia en la
música rock. Cuando yo era muchacho, la gente
decía que Michael Jackson era el Rey de Pop. Le
decían así por tener tantas canciones exitosas por
tantos años y por su poder en vivo como artista. El
título de 'rey' comunica que la persona que lleva ese título está
al centro de algo, de ciertas personas o de cierta realidad. Hay
muchos reyes de muchas cosas diferentes, pero hay un solo Rey
del Universo. En el universo, toda creación se inclina a este rey.
Ningún otro rey es más alto que este. Todo le pertenece a este,
aunque Él nos da muchos regalos. Nos da simplemente porque
nos ama, y nuestro amor por Él nos debe mover a usar sus
regalos para Su gloria, porque somos más que sus sometidos.
Somos hijos e hijas del Rey. Somos realeza por la marca del
bautismo. Los monarcas de diferentes eras y diferentes lugares
han desvanecido. Sin embargo, nuestro Rey está vivo, y nos está
llamando a vivir completamente en Su Reino. Su nombre es
Jesús. Su Reino está por venir.
