Christmas Angels Gift Ministry 2016 Wish lists will be available at Acts 2:42 dinner on November 9 and November 16, and can also be selected before and after each service starting November 13 through December 4. To volunteer with the ministry, call Dawn Brown at 828-421-1760.

Please join Women to Women Wednesday in the Venue at 6:30 pm for “Better Health for Women, Naturally” presented by Dr. Linda Sparks, N.D. Dr. Sparks has received extensive training in natural medicine including Clinical Nutrition, Homeopathy, Herbal Medicine, Holistic Counseling, Bio-therapeutic Drainage/Detox and Chinese Medicine. She graduated from Southwest College of Naturopathic Med-icine with honors, has lectured around the nation and is passionate about teaching and helping people learn about natural healthcare. No registration required.

IT’S A PARTY...and now comes the time to celebrate. On Wednesday evening, November 16, at 6:15 pm in The Venue we will have our Long’s Chapel OCC Packing Party. We get to pack 300 shoe boxes with all the items collected over this year, write notes for each box, and pray for the child who will receive it. This is a joyful night and the excitement in the room is something you will never for-get. Please bring a picture of your family to put in the boxes you pack and know that the child who receives it will keep and treasure your picture forever. This party is for everyone, and if you ask anyone who has been before, watch the huge smile break out on their faces. What a wonderful way to begin the holiday season, by giving to a child and introducing them to Jesus. Also note that shoe boxes are avail-able in the Gathering Area to the congregation for all who want to pack a box personally. As always feel free to call the Jarrells with any questions at 246-0331.

“Walking” Christmas Float - The Evangelism/Outreach Team is planning a “walking” Christmas float made up of Long’s Chapel family and friends. We are looking for 100 persons to walk the parade route giving out treats, smiling, greeting, and carrying the Long’s Chapel banner. Individuals and groups are asked to contact the church office to sign up for a special time of presenting love to our community. The parade is December 5 beginning at 6:00. We will walk from Angelo’s Pizza Bogart’s. Come on Long’s Chapel! The theme is “Christmas Past, Christmas Present” Let’s make a difference by showing up strong! SS groups, youth, children, study groups!! Call the church office to sign up!

Trip to England Planned for Nov. 2017 - Tom & Sandy Fogarty will lead this week-long excursion to visit places related to John Wesley (Epworth, Oxford, Stratford, Cotswolds, Gloucester, London). Wednesday Nights in the Sanctuary - “Half Truths” - Ever wonder what's Biblical and what's not? How to differentiate the truths of the Bible and common every-day sayings as truth is what Wednesday Night in the Sanctuary will be all about. Join Rev. Laura Jones for this Bible-based, fact-finding journey at 6:15 pm. No book necessary; bring your Bible or use one in the pews. This week’s topic: “Love the sinner, hate the sin.”

Wednesday Night Acts 2:42 Dinner begins at 5:15 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Pr icing: $6 adults/children 12 & older ; $4 children ages 5-11 (4 and under eat free); $18 family maximum. Nov. 9 menu: Scalloped potato & ham casserole, roasted mixed vegetables, salad, rolls, dessert.

Mission Work Team to travel to the Mission Response Center on Fr iday, November 18. Join us as we work sor ting and packing donated goods for shipment to UMCOR locations and Project Agape in Armenia. We travel on the church bus, leaving at 7 am. and return-ing by 7 pm. This is a great day of fellowship and working together helping others. Annual Festival of Tables Event for women coming soon! Nov. 14, at 6 pm. An evening of fun, scrumptious food and a magnificent display of color and creativity at each table. Tickets available ($25) in the church office.

Annual Charge Conference is Tuesday, November 15 at 7 pm in the Sanctuary. All church members are encouraged to attend. The business of this conference will be conducted in a worship setting. Please make plans to attend.
