QUARTERMASTER

REPORT

We are once again going to be visited by some retired NFL players. The last time we invited them to visit, the

members and the players had a wonderful time. The players have accepted our invitation again. They will be here

for meat bingo on November 10, 2013. Come out and enjoy meat bingo and talk with your players from your

favorite teams.

Your Post is in good shape despite what our government is doing to us. Please renew your membership before January 1,

2014 as your dues will increase by $10.00 on that date. If anyone has any questions concerning the Post finances, which are

in good condition, please don’t hesitate to come to me as I will be more than glad to speak with you.

CANTEEN CORNER Happy holidays to everyone, What a busy past two months at Post 8093. We kick off November with Member’s Appreciation Day. What a turn out for a job well done by Dave Kunzer and Mike Singleton. Those two started barbecuing at 4:30 AM and never stopped. The food was outstanding and we thank the Ladies’ Auxiliary for helping us out. Music

was great by Solid Gold and everyone had a great time. Wore me out!!!! November 14th, the Men’s Auxiliary had a Fall Festival and it was certainly festive. Everyone was dancing to the end of the night. It makes you feel good when you see smiling faces at the Post. Good job by the Men’s Auxiliary. In October, we had another special night. The Ladies Auxiliary put on “A Night with the Legends” as a fund raiser for Cancer Research. The legends did a super job imitating our legends. The Soggy Bottom Boys, Sinatra, Loretta, Dean Martin, Barbara Streisand and the list goes on. Even by Bobby portrayed Freddie Fender and he gave me his autograph. WOW!!! I can say there was standing room only. A fabulous turn-out for a good cause. Thanks to Chairwoman Nancy Bolduc and Asst. Teresa McNeeley, and Chuck Dean for donating his time to play all the music for putting the show together. I must say, they gave the Legends a run for their money. Very enjoyable!!!! Once again the Post will be bustling with parties to keep all of you busy. On November 10th we are having Meat Bingo plus we are having, as our guest, NFL Football players. These players have Super Bowl rings, along with many other awards and we are sure you will know them if you stop at the canteen. Here is your chance to meet some of the most famous football player of your time. On November 16th the Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a Fabulous Casino Night. We are going to have a Vegas Finger Food Buffet, Vegas Casino Best Dressed contest male & Female (I’m In), Raffle for a Casino Basket, Music by Traces of Gold and much more. This is a fundraiser to benefit our VETERANS. We are finding out that our veterans in homes need help and that is what we are here to do!!!! Vegas time starts at 5:00 and the cost is $10.00 (includes buffet and play money). If you are lucky, you can get prizes with your play money. Then dance the rest of the night with some great music by Traces of Gold. Don’t forget and bring a friend for a great cause helping our Veterans. Happy Thanksgiving and safe holiday. The Post will be closed! Merry Christmas everyone, here we go with a bust month. December 14th the Post will have their Christmas Party. A Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings 6:00 - 8:00. Music at 8:00 by Traces of Gold. Santa and his elves will be there handing out presents to all the good boys & girls (I get one). Always a fun night, so don’t get left out. Tickets will be $12.00. Get ready my little elves who cook the turkeys. December 12th, a Santa and Elves Bartender Revenge!!!!!!! This is the day and night the “want to be” Bartenders take the lime light!!! Just think, you might get to see “ELVES” or “SANTA” himself. Oh Boy!!! I love this night just to hassle all of them. OK!! Who will it be, stop by and see if they can be a bartender???December 24th, we will have a Christmas Eve Party starting at 1:00. Bring in a snack to pass and share. Music at 1:00 to get you in the mood for XMAS DAY. The Post Closes at 6:00. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS DAY. On December 31st, we are having a New Years' Eve Party. Party favors, balloon drop and a champagne toast at midnight to bring in 2014!! WOW. Another year gone by!! Covered dishes will be greatly appreciated and the meat will be provided. I take this opportunity to thank all my volunteers, you made my year 2013 easier and we had fun. Thank-you Dora Autorino and Fred Taylor for doing Meat Bingo every month raising money for the Post. We all greatly appreciate everything you two do along with Mom also (Mamie). Ron and Betty Bishop do an outstanding job every Sunday volunteering their doing Bingo for the Post. What would we do without these great volunteers for our Post? We love you!!! I also would like to say thank-you to our entertainers for the year. There were times you went overboard for us. Thanks!!! We are doing some new things at the Post. We have a couple of games we are introducing in the Canteen. Throw 7 dice and see if you can get 4 of a kind. You win a drink if you do and it only cost a quarter to play. The next game is you throw the dice and you must get 5 aces and this game cost $1.00, but the pot grows and grows until someone gets five aces. WOW!!! The pot can get very big. There you Go!!!! Get ready for the next two months at our post. Thank - you for your support and God Bless our Troops!!!

From the Officers of the Men’s Auxiliary

Good Day Gentlemen,

Dues notice should already be out. Please send in your dues as soon as possible to avoid misplacing them.

Remember to send your dues directly to National for this saves a lot of time and avoids a lot of confusion.

Our last fund raiser was not a great success. I understand that not everyone has the time to work a Fundraiser

but at the very least the membership should make an effort to attend these events. For the past two and half

years this letter has expressed faith in the Auxiliary membership. The truth be known, the same 10 to 14

members attend the meetings and do all the volunteer work and they are getting tired. If you want the Men’s

Auxiliary at this Post to continue to thrive, we need members to step up to the plate by attending meetings,

volunteering their time for fundraisers and holding office. There really is more to being a member of the

Men’s Auxiliary than paying your dues to have an inexpensive place to drink.

Thank you very much, The President of the Men’s Auxiliary
