Christmas tree festival
Our tree this year raised £335.99
We would like to thank everyone for all their help decorating the tree,
attending in their spare time to promote our cats and oversee all
collections.
Especially a big thank you to Fakenham Church and to everyone
who donated their spare change for us.

Thank you
We would like to say
thank you to Michael
James from Sporle for
collecting £14.27 for our
cats in care.
We would like to thank Mandy
and Abbe who ran a half
marathon to raise money for
our cats at the adoption
centre, they raised in excessive
of £700
Well done

Charlie relaxing after the fireworks
Chips has finally realised that he is not allowed out tonight
because of the fireworks, so he has put himself to bed in the
ironing basket.
This is Satan. We adopted her
from Dereham cats protection
when she was just a kitten.
She's now 6 years old.
We have
Garfield that we
got from you guys
he eats as much
as the real
Garfield too lol x
Beautiful Gypsy, now 7 months old and extremely friendly and happy. Very
different to the noisy little thing she was when we first saw her squeaking
to be let out of the cage! X
Jaspers sister Lita is settling really well
too, she loves cuddling up on the bed at
night (left)
Jasper is settling into his forever home
really well . He is such a handsome loving
boy (right)
Just thought you might like
to see Jolly who we got off
you in January, we named
her Jemma, she is happy,
she talks when she want's
your attention, she loves
tearing up boxes, she has a
loud purr, still a little
nervous thou. lol still
haven't got her to the vets,
she won't let us pick her up...... yet.
Here's our little Flint (Fire
Fly) making himself at home! Picked him up on
the 11th but it's like he's always been here! He's
very spoilt and loved to bits!
Marley
enjoying his
new home.
Love brindle torts! This my beautiful
Marble who I adopted from you
approximately 9 years ago! Xx
Hello! Just a
quick message
to say thanks
so much for
Tigger! He is a
brilliant cat!
Thought you
might want to
see a pic of
him! Can't believe we've had him almost 4 months!
Biff (perky) and Bob (pinky) are doing
really well . 2 happy cats
After I bumped into Dan in Dereham the other day, I thought it was time I sent you a few photos of
Riley and Olive Oyl (now Samson
and Mollie) to show you how well
they are settling into their new
home. They are great characters
and very good company - we are so
glad we took them on!
Thought we would show you how molly
is doing. We had her 2 years now and
she is a good girl..
Hi there,
We just wanted to thank you so much for
including us in the mewsletter. It made me
shed a tear with pride that we have Zebra.
She is so lovely....going out didn’t go too well as
she doesn’t like the harness (horrible thing) but we
are worried about losing her.
We are on half term now and will have more time
to try! We wonder if she cant hear very well???
She responds to loud noises (bumps etc.) but not
to quiet ones or her name (maybe a settling in thing) was she always called Zebra??
Its not a problem and we will laugh about it next spring when she’s living the full country life ha ha
Still thinking of little Molly and look on the website each day. Hope she is well
Once again thank you for our special gift and we hope to be back one day...when the boys are
bigger, I think you may have 3 more helpers!!
Jo, Mike, Toby and Chester Birkhead xxxx
Catalonia is settling in really well. She's very loving and has
fitted in really well with our others, especially our 19 month
old ocicat Belle-Meade who she has become great friends
with. They are often curled up together, usually with
Belle-Meade playing mum and grooming Catalonia. This is
especially nice for Belle-Meade as she has a damaged cruciate
ligament and is confined to one room. Catalonia likes to keep
her company (she's small enough to slip through the dog gate to get in). Here is a picture of them
relaxing together.
Ahhh….
another kitty
that looks
like my Lulu!
Love torties!
My baby girl,
Shiah . Such loving
fur babies.x
Marie has settled in well in her new home; still a bit unsure of my partner
(don't think she is too keen on men), but gradually improving. She goes
outside now, but doesn't go too far - seems to be happiest staying in our
garden. She likes playing with toys on string so keeps us busy in the
evenings, and follows me everywhere and seems very happy so thinks she
has picked a nice home! We are fairly quiet here, and only have little
visitors on odd weekends for spells so it is never too noisy for her. Hope you
are finding new homes for your other cats. Karen Starling
Zebra and the log burner heat
effect!! she has found several
purrfect places in the house to
call hers. xxx
My beautiful Maisy-Rae.
Watching Downton
Abbey, chillaxing and
most importantly..... my
first adopted cats
protection cat (4 years
ago). ahhh. x
Trevor is all settled in
already!! Loves company and
chasing the dog around. He
even loves the other cats
already. He is almost identical
to Snow our eldest, they look
like mother and son! Thanks
so
much.
Look Sugar
and Tanti!
This is the
first time
I’ve seen
them
together .
Apologies about the bad photo, I was
like 'oohhh grab the camera get that pic quick!'
Sending you piccies of Athena....adopted
last Sunday. She is beautiful and has
made herself at home already. She does
have the most adorable meow and loves to
snuggle on the sofa and on our beds. Luckily our
other cat that we adopted from you a couple of years
ago (Lord Ellingham) has been a real gentleman cat
and there's been no problem at all. He seems really happy with his new feline friend :)
Maisy settled in
just fine
Thanks for
everything
Hard to believe this
beautiful little princess
Cookie is 2 years old.
Cats protection you gave
us a new family member
2 years ago and she is
our princess. (Banamba)
previously
A friendly girl with all the makings of lovable lap
cat. 'Pebbles' is a younger cat who will
appreciate getting outside as well as enjoying
home comforts. A nice girl :)
Richard (Sugar Dumpling) relaxing
in his new home. Purring.. Even
with his poorly toe. Thanks for
your help today ladies! X
Thought I
would send
some
pictures to
you of Tilly
(Heaven)
showing you
how she is getting on. She is absolutely perfect, she
now spends all day during the day outside exploring
and has made a few friends around the close, she still
spends the nights inside and has commandeered one
of our sofa’s as ‘Tilly’s Seat’ and she will let you know
if you’re in it. She is getting very big, still eating well
and loves the odd treat here and there and she is very
vocal in the mornings!!
Ruby has settled in very well from the moment she arrived.
Wears us out as she "gallops" from room to room dragging
her toys.
The other cats are getting used to her - 2 girls and a boy;
the latter she walks over as he sleeps on the sofa! Or at
least tries to.
Managed a pic on the rare occasion she slows down.
Jackie Cook
Dexter is loving his new home after only a couple of hours!
Exploring every corner and windowsill, purring away and rubbing
against my legs for fuss! Couldn't be more pleased.
My wish has come
true, how about yours?
A big thank you to all our volunteers, also to all of you who
have adopted from us in the past and present.
Please don't throw anything away we will take it and raise needed funds for our
Adoption Centre
'Mr Tom' is a lovely lad who enjoys companionship and
seems to feel more secure with a little loving human
company. Probably better suited to a quieter home rather
than a bustling one. A pleasant chap, its definitely worth meeting him
and saying hello :)
Dear Santa - please do not
let me be alone anymore!
Total raised to date is a whopping £2,798.42
The First Toftwood Rainbows
have drawn us some pictures
and donated some cat food
as part of their work towards
one of their badges... thank
you for thinking of us, it is
appreciated.

This is the Howard family who adopted Pix(ie) from you just over a
week ago.
We wanted to let you know that she is settling in really well with us
and is already craving to go out and explore the garden. She has been
eating well and has adopted us as her own very
quickly.
We would also like to say "Thank you" for looking
after her so well and please do keep up the good
work so families like ours can have cats like Pix(ie).
Bella and Coco are both helping out with
the chutney, jelly and marmalade making
with money being raised for the Cats Pro-
tection!
Thank you so much Bella and Coco from all
of us here at the adoption centre :-) x x
Maggie Maggie is a lovely girl, she is quite
independent and enjoys a fuss. She
came to us due to her owner
expecting a baby and was under the
illusion that cats and babies do not
go together. (sadly we see so many
cats given up for this reason and all
it takes is a bit of cleanliness to
overcome the issue) She loves to be
the centre of attention and will do
this by rubbing around your legs,
Maggie loves to play which brings out
the happy feeling for her.
She is waiting for you!!
Timmy
Timmy is a very handsome boy, that
loves attention all over. He will come
and greet you to say "hello" and nuzzle
around your legs. Timmy is now looking
for that forever home to be loved in.
Lilith Lilith found herself here with us due
to her owners emigrating and unable
to take her with them.
As you can see by her cheeky
expression she has character which
includes playing and chasing
anything that moves, she would
make an ideal hunter especially with
her alertness.
She can be a bit bossy with other
cats so a home possibly on her own
would suit her down to the ground.
Ginge
Ginge is finding it strange
being with us, his owners
health was not good so was
unable to care for him
anymore. When initially seeing
him he will hiss but he does
not mean it as he enjoys a fuss,
he just needs some reassurance
that all is going to be well and
some kind person will come
along and choose him.
Thomas 'Thomas' has been
described as a Big Friendly
Giant. A lovely friendly
boy just wanting a home
for the first time in his
life. Thomas is the most
traditional looking Tom
Cat we've had in a while
he really lives up to his
name. Come in and give
him a fuss, you'll be
smitten...
Katie 'Katie' is a little old lady who
needs a nice relaxed home to
settle into take full advantage
of the comforts offered to her.
Many moons ago 'Katie'
started life as a one of our
kittens, she then spent her
entire life living with one of
our elderly supporters, who
has now sadly passed away.
We now feel we owe it to
'Katie' and to memory of her
owner to find her the perfect
retirement home before
winter sets in...
How to keep your feline in purr-fect shape this Christmas
If you are thinking of offering your cat a treat:
Do not give them human chocolate, which is not good for cats, or pieces of turkey which may contain small bones
Instead, offer them a little boiled fish or boneless chicken in its own juice (ensure it is adequately cooked to avoid the risk of salmonella poisoning). Alternatively you can give puss one of the many safe to eat Christmas cat treats that are available
Some cats will also nibble at the seasonal items that appear in their home over the festive period so do remember:
Holly and mistletoe are potentially toxic to cats so, if choosing to have them in your house, position them well away from your cat’s reach. Also if you receive any plants as Christmas presents, consult your vet to check they are safe for felines.
Watch your cat to see how he reacts to decorations such as baubles, tinsel or Christmas light cables. If he can’t keep his paws off them then it is best to keep him out of the room when you are not with him.
After opening presents, be sure to completely clear the room of wrapping paper, elastic bands and so on to prevent your cat from nibbling at them.
Kiss
Kiss is adorable, cute as a pie She looked after her kittens (apples of her eye) A youngster herself
at the age of just one, She’d love a new home where she could start having fun.
Kiss has been at Downham Market Adoption Centre for three months
while she raised her six kittens, and has done a fantastic job - all have
found loving homes. It’s now Kiss’s time to find someone to love and with
whom she can form a permanent bond. She needs outside space where
she could run and play to her hearts content but also a warm lap to curl
up on in the evenings. She is finding life in a pen frustrating so we are
keen to match her with an owner in order for her to start her new life.
Found
In the area of Holt Road, Norwich and
brought to Cats Protection on the 30th
November. , if you recognise him please
contact us 01362 687919 ref 254770
Ethylene glycol (anti-freeze) ingestion is
seriously dangerous. It is sweet-tasting and
very palatable to dogs and cats. Even a
relatively small quantity can cause serious
kidney damage and can be fatal.
Unfortunately, the longer the delay
between ingestion of the anti freeze and
initiation of treatment the less favourable
the prognosis.

black patch at the very front, she was wearing a gold collar and

the hedge most of time . I've now started to feed it
twice a day but cannot take it in due to 2 cat's of my
own who do not like other cat's.....it's looking much

before winter sets .
Dear all - this is a pic of the ginger and white cat
which has been hanging around Rougham Airfield
all on its own. Jay finally managed to catch him and,
if anyone recognises him he's with Bury Stray Cats.
Hope he finds his owner or a loving new home
soon! Thanks Jay for ensuring he's warm and dry,
especially in this weather!
Is anyone missing this little babe? Keeps turning up at my house
(near town centre in Dereham) hungry and sad. If it already has a
home I don't want to feed/re-home it, but can't see it go hungry or
think of it stuck outside in horrible weather. hope the pic can be
viewed
Please can we share this photo to
try to reunite with his/hers
owner thank you
This cat has started hanging around
our house in the Carbrooke/Watton

has been missing sometime as he is
very skinny. Very loud and vocal and
very hungry.
Please can everyone keep a look out for my
friends cat, she is an indoors cat since moving
to Dereham (opposite cemetery) and is shy
and not easily approachable, she escaped yes-
