• $2 million in state funds available over 2 years for grants to implement breakfast after the bell• All schools are eligible for funds BOTH years

• If you have eligible schools in your district• Make a plan for what you need to get Breakfast After the Bell started at the schools on the

• For BIC, may need carts, wagons, etc
• For grab and go or second chance, kiosks for alternative POS?
• For cafeteria, do you need more refrigeration?
• Staff needs?• Be prepared to provide information on why you need these items

• The USDA Prototype distributed via numbered memo• Intended to be used for electronic meal benefit and application systems• NOT required to use this template• May use the previously distributed application template that includes all sample forms

Changes to Hiring Standards• Hiring standards are based on 3 LEA size categories
• 2,400 or less student enrollment• 2,500-9,999 student enrollment• 10,000 or more student enrollment
• Educational requirements reflect the knowledge and expertise required to perform duties successfully

Food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business, or a related field
