On first release of the HP Sure Store Disk System 2300, four HBAs are supported for the HP Netservers:

-C7430A PCI Ultra2 Wide HBA-D9161A NetRAID 4M/64MB Cache HBA-D9351A NetRAID 4M/128MB Cache HBA-P3413A Single-port Ultra3 SCSI HBA

Embedded controllers and the following HBAs are not supported on first release of the DS2300:

-D2140A –NetRAID 1si HBA-D5955A – NetRAid 3si HBA-P3410A – NetRAID 1M Ultra3 SCSI HBA w/64MB-P3411A/B– NetRAID 2M Ultra3 SCSI HBA w/64MB-P3475A/B – NetRAID 2M Ultra3 SCSI HBA w/128MB

A fix to the hardware is expected in June 2002

Topologies:

The DS2300 can be installed in Full Bus Mode or Split Bus Mode – however the addressing must be closely managed – see User Guide for details

-In Full Bus Mode – max 14 disk modules, one HBA, the HBA must have a SCSI address of 7

-In Split Bus Mode (two internal buses) the DS2300 supports data mirroring between the two internal buses within the same disk system in MC/Service Guard configurations
