BACKGROUND

NSW Seniors Festival In 2020, the NSW Seniors Festival will be held on 12 – 23 February. Celebrating its 62nd year, it is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere, reaching up to 500,000 seniors each year.

Premier’s Gala ConcertsThe Concerts showcase some of the best and upcoming musical theatre talent and recording artists. Four free concerts are held over two days at ICC Sydney. 32,000 seniors attended the

sold out event in 2019.

NSW Seniors Festival ExpoHeld at ICC Sydney, this free event hosts over 60 exhibitors ranging from travel to financial services to health and wellbeing. The Expo provides seniors an opportunity to access information on products and services all under one roof. It is a day of learning and fun, with workshops, presentations and live stage entertainment.

Grants Program and Community EventsThis program provides $200,000 in funding to local organisations and councils to run events and activities during NSW Seniors Festival. As part of this program, 111 events were funded in 2019. A total of 560 events were organised and advertised on our website.

NSW Comedy ShowDelivered in partnership with the City of Sydney, the NSW Comedy Show is hosted at Sydney Town Hall, attracting over 1,000 attendees. Some of the comedians who performed in 2019 included Wendy Harmer, Tommy Dean and Dave Williams.
