the meeting place for researchin Offi cial Statistics
The NTTS (New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics)is an international scientifi c conference on the use and development of new technologies on statistical collection, production and dissemination systems. The conference intends to stimulate and facilitate the preparation of new innovative projects for the European Framework Programme for Research and Development, to encourage co-operation and creation of partnership between researchers and offi cial statisticians with the aim of enhancing the quality and usefulness of offi cial statistics.
NTTS conferences have been organised in 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001 and 2009.
The 2011 conference aims fi rst and foremost to discuss the future needs and developments of research in statistics in preparation of the future contributions to the 8th EU Framework Programme for Research and Development. It also aims to present the outcomes of recent research activities in statistics and to promote new research in methodological and technological issues in relation with Offi cial Statistics.
