• You MUST complete the online indemnity form with details of your passport, travel dates, travel insurance, next-of-kin contact details prior to leaving.
• Online indemnity form to be completed no later than two weeks before your departure date. There is a risk of no credit transfer if the indemnity form is not submitted prior to departure.
• The online Indemnity Form is accessible via :GEM Discoverer Website> Online Forms> Guide For Submission of Online Indemnity Form
• Upload ink-signed indemnity form
• Upload supporting documents (eg. passport bio-page, flight itinerary, certificate of insurance)
• Make amendments to the online form to update any new changes.

• Travel Insurance is MANDATORY
• If your departure date is before 1 June, please purchase the NTU TravelSure
from our vendor, UOI
• Those travelling on and after 1 June will participate in a group insurance plan; further details on the services and the rates payable by students will be announced by email shortly
• Your Host University may require you to have a Health Insurance
• Note that Travel Insurance is not the same as Health Insurance!

• Ensure your passport is valid for 6 months from programme end date
• If your destination is to Russia, your passport has to be valid for at least 18 months from programme end date
• For loss of passport while abroad, please make a report with local police and visit the nearest Singapore Embassy or Consulate for a replacement/ document of identification to return to Singapore
• Update OGEM on any incidents and progress

• Only confirm your flight bookings once you have received your acceptance from the host university
• Once accepted, confirm all your air and transport tickets and schedule
• Bring along a photocopy of all tickets
• Do note on the arrival timings, especially at night (past midnight)
• Check for your respective airline baggage allowance online
• Give yourself ample travelling time before checking-in and sufficient transit time between connecting flights
• Where possible, travel as a group
• Research thoroughly on the visa requirements for your host country!
• As visa requirements often changes at short notice, you should check with your travel agencies or respective embassies/representative offices to ensure you have the accurate visa document
• Plan carefully and provide ample time for yourself to receive your visa on time prior to your departure

• Once your itinerary has been confirmed, please leave a copy of your schedule with your family
• Ensure that you have means of contact with your family
• Readily update your flight itinerary on the NTU Online Indemnity Form submission system whenever there are any changes

• Seek advice on vaccinations and medication that you may requireE.g. Typhoid, Tetanus…
• Always bring extra supplies of regular medications, and doctor’s prescription for customs clearance

• Does the host university have requirements on accommodation?
• Have you secured your accommodation?
• Book accommodation as early as possible!

• Ensure that you have enough funds for the entire stay, including extensions
• Carry some local currency of your host country but do not carry too much cash
• You may be required to declare your finances if you are bringing in more than the stipulated amount, either in the form of local currency or monetary instruments
• Activate debit/credit card for overseas use and keep all receipts in case of fraud
• Open bank accounts if applicable
• Use of travelers' cheques; keep a separate record
• Departure taxes – Ensure you have enough local currency to pay this tax before departing

• Pack appropriately for the weather conditions

• Do not hitch-hike. It is not a safe way of travelling
• Bring suitable power adaptors with power surge protection

• Do note that Singapore has very strict laws on controlled/illegal drugs. Cannabis is illegal in Singapore but legal in Canada, some states in the US and some parts of Europe and Asia.
• The possession and consumption of illegal drugs outside of Singapore by Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents are still considered offences punishable by Singapore law.

• Independent thinking & individual contributions are valued in group assignments, and sometimes, will be rated
• You are expected to manage your own time and are responsible for your own learning
• Discipline in class is very important – using your phones in classroom can be considered as poor behaviour

• Avoid isolated, unfamiliar places, or places with a high crime rate
• Plan carefully. Bring enough cash for the day. Do not flaunt expensive jewelry
• Travel in groups. Watch out for each other
• Do not hitch-hike
• Share the driving load. Note local norms
• Always work within the legal framework of the host country. If in doubt, try to give in even if it costs more money

• Email instructions on finalisation of AU projection (to begin the process of credit transfer) will be sent upon your return

• If transcript is sent to OGEM, you will be notified by One Stop when it is ready for collection
• Upon receiving your transcript, please upload it onto the system
• Credit transfer is expected to be completed within 4 to 8 weeks from day of upload

• If transcript is sent to you directly, please send to OGEM for verification. You may keep the original transcript
• Credit transfer is expected to be completed within 4 to 8 weeks of receipt of transcript
Credit Transfer Policy:

• If transcript is sent to OGEM, you will be notified by One Stop when it is ready for collection
• No further action is required on your end. OAS will proceed with credit transfer and it is expected to be done within 4 to 8 weeks from day of upload
