About Border Cowboys

It says a lot, because since the 1800s these cattle ranching families have traded with Apache chiefs and witnessed Geronimo’s surrender at Skeleton Canyon.

They lived through the tumultuous silver rush of Tombstone and the gunfight at the O.K. Corral. They’ve weathered drought, floods, fires, lightening strikes and mountain lion attacks.

Cochise County cowboys today face the most dangerous set of circumstances in their history.

But those hardships don’t compare to the environment facing today’s Border Cowboys.

Today, drug runners and border patrols trample their land, each baring the most sophisticated weapons and surveillance equipment available. “Illegals” jump their fences and dig tunnels underneath them to enter our country, accosting friends and family as they cross.

The 1,000,000 acres of contiguous grassland on which they raise the cattle we eat is being eyed for development and is beset by encroaching species and a loss of bio-diversity.

The surroundings in which Border Cowboys operate today threaten their livelihoods, their lives and their enduring existence.

And yet, these cowboys not only endure, they look to the future with optimism, confidence, and a spirit of cooperation.

With humility and good humor, they are working to preserve and guard the way of life they cherish – and the life so many people dream of – to be cowboys.

This is the story of American icons.

Of true cowboys.

Forever cowboys.

Border Cowboys is about bringing the stories of these unique ranching families to the public, on both the small screen in an unscripted ensemble reality series as well as through online storytelling.

In that pursuit, Border Cowboys follows 6 families whose livelihood rides on the fence between the U.S. and Mexico, and takes viewers from the high plains of the border region into the high-stakes world of Hollywood.

NTVB Media will follow the quest to bring the Border Cowboys story to television, giving Americans the chance to live the cowboy life vicariously.

In this reality series, the main character is just that – the character that makes these folks Border Cowboys.
