Principles of Astrology for the Soul

The type of astrology I use is based on the fact that we are all here on

Earth in order to learn and grow. It could be termed Karmic or

Evolutionary astrology. The soul is immortal and we spend many many

lifetimes reincarnating in order to gain knowledge, wisdom and learn

certain lessons. On the spiritual plane everything is one but on the

human level there are infinite possibillities and that allows us to have

free will, to make choices and learn from our mistakes. Life on Earth can

be viewed as giant training school for the soul.

This type of astrology can give answers to the big questions in life such

as 'What is my purpose and what are my lessons?' It helps answer the

question 'Why?'

One of the few certainties in this life is that nothing ever stays the same

for long. Everything is in a state of continuous change and is an aspect

of Natural Law.

Desire is the 'fuel' that drives the process of change and our birth chart

shows the desires our soul was working on in previous lifetimes that got

us to this point. It also shows what our soul's desires are in this lifetime

and which lessons we want to learn. It is said that this is agreed upon

before we are born. A state of dynamic tension exists between the past

and the present. A person can decide to stick with the familiar patterns

and end up not really learning anything new or they can break out of

their comfort zone and create a new future. Clues as to the directions to

go in can be found in the birth chart. There is always free will but some

lessons need to be learned and so if they are skipped in this lifetime

they will need to be repeated in another lifetime.

Because this process is based on Natural Law it does not require belief

for it to work. It just is.

 

Principles of Astrology for the Soul

1. We are all in a continuous state of change. In order for new

patterns, behaviours or thoughts to be created, destruction of the old

ones must occur. This change can either be slow and progressive or it

can be sudden and shocking.

2. The Soul is energy and is no different to the energy

of consciousness itself. It cannot be found existing as a physical object

anywhere in the brain although certain areas of the brain are linked to

consciousness such as the brain stem and the pituitary gland (third eye).

Using a television set as an analogy, these anatomical structures can be

described as components of the TV which allow it to pick up the digital

signal and show it on the screen. Trying to find the soul in the brain

would be like opening up the TV set to find the news set or the tv

presenter!

Quantum physicists state that every single thing has consciousness,

even inanimate objects. As mentioned in the tarot section we have

individual consciousness but we are interconnected with all things in the

sea of universal consciousness. Consciousness correlates with the planet

Neptune in astrology.

 

3. We are all immortal because are souls are energy and energy

cannot be destroyed, it can only change form. As universal

consciousness is all one then we are all part of the source energy. We

are not separate from the 'creator' and therefore we are all powerful,

sovereign beings.

Within each of us there are two conflicting desires. The desire to

separate from source and the desire to return. The unfolding,

progression of the soul leads to elimination of all separating desires with

the goal of returning to source. The desire to separate can be seen as

looking for the divine or sense of happiness from things in the material

world such as pinning all our hopes on a partner to make us happy or

expecting a dream job to solve all our problems. Often when we have

obtained things that we thought were going to make us happy we are

left with an underlying feeling of dissatisfaction that 'there must be

something more to life than this'. This sense of something missing is the

desire to return to the source or Origin of All Things. The Soul correlates

with the planet Pluto.

 

4. The Ego - We need it!

A lot of people view the ego as something bad, and something we should

try and completely remove but without an ego we would not have a

vehicle in order to learn our lessons. Without an ego we could not

develop individuality. We wouldn't have a self-image. The ego allows us

to see ourselves as separate beings. 'Me' as opposed to 'you'. It allows

us to express our individual unique needs and desires and most

importantly it allows us to learn. Even though ultimately we are all one,

in this level of reality we operate as separate beings and the ego allows

us to do this. Obviously a balance needs to be struck and the ego can

take over and cause problems as well and that is why certain zodiac

signs such as Virgo are about learning humility and thinking of others

not just ourselves.

Like the soul, the ego is a form of energy. It cannot be found in the

brain. The ego correlates to the Moon in astrology. When we die the ego

dissolves back into the soul.

After death the soul goes to the astral plane (another energetic level of

existence which is much less dense than here on Earth). The soul

undergoes a life review and prepares for another birth into a new life.

The ego contains the memory of the life which allows the life review to

take place but also is taken into the new lifetime. This past life

egocentric structure is shown on the birth chart as the south node of the

moon. The current egocentric structure is the position of the moon on

the chart and the north node of the moon shows what the soul needs to

do or experience in order for its egocentric structure to evolve.

Principios para el alma

Sin un ego no podríamos desarrollar individualidad. No tenemos una autoimagen. El ego nos permite vernos a nosotros mismos como seres separados. Yo a diferencia de usted. Nos permite expresar nuestras necesidades individuales y deseos y lo que es importante nos permite aprender más. Aunque en última instancia,

todos somos uno, en este nivel de realidad nos desenvolvemos como seres separados y el ego nos permite hacer esto. Obviamente es necesario ser en equilibrio y el ego puede asumir el control y causar problemas; así es necesario tener un aprendizaje de humildad y pensar en los demás, no sólo a nosotros mismos.

Como el alma, el ego es una forma de energía. No se encuentra en el cerebro. Al morir el ego se disuelve en el alma.

Después de la muerte el alma va al plano astral (otro nivel energético de la existencia que es mucho menos denso que aquí en la tierra). El alma somete a una revisión de vida y se prepara para otro nacimiento a una nueva vida. El ego contiene la memoria de la vida que permite la revisión de vida se realice, pero también se tiene en la vida nueva.

La actual estructura egocéntrica es la posición que el ser muestra que el alma necesita hacer o experimentar en orden para evolucionar.
