ABOUT
I was born in Lisbon on Fabruary 12 of 1987. Since i was a kid the buildings, the different spaces and the senses generated by them were very attractive to me. I studied at Lusíada University of Lisbon, and throughout the years i’ve learned many things that make me understand and love more architecture. I am passioned about how architecture can change people’s life in different ways and i am dedicated to understand how architecture works.

PROGRAME : CREATE AN EXTENSION OF THE MUSEUM ABOVE THE RUINS OF THE OLD ROMAN THEATRE.

THE IDEA OF THIS PROJECT IS TO RECREATE FROM THE ANCIENT ROMAN THEATRE STRUCTURE THE THREE TYPES OF WORKBENCH WHICH GIVE RISE TO THE PRIVATE ROUTE OF THE MUSEUM AND TO THE STAGE THAT ESTABLISH LINKS WITH THE PUBLIC ROUTE. THERE ARE FOUR DIFFERENT MOMENTS THAT RECREATES THE MEMORY OF THE ANCIENT ROMAN THEATRE OF LISBON. IN THE COURSE OF THE MUSEUM AND IN EVERY MOMENT WE CAN FEEL THE ANCIENT THEATER. IT IS A COURSE THAT REVEALS ALONG THE WAY ITS MEMORY, FINIISHES WITH A MEMORABLE VIEW TO THE CITY AND TO THE RIVER. IN THE PUBLIC COURSE PEOPLE BECOME ACTORS AS REFERENCE TO THE OLD THEATER STAGE . THESE FOUR ELEMENTS ARE LINKED WITH THE CITY AND WITH THE PRE-EXISTENCE OF THIS PLACE.

03 GIANT AND DWARFHOUSING MADRID

THIS PROJECT WAS MADE IN CHUECA, MADRID. THE PROGRAM OF THIS PROJECT WAS TO BUILD A HOUSE FOR A DWARF AND A GIANT, AS WELL AS A BOOKSHOP, ONE CANTEEN BAR AND A MUSIC SHOP.DUE TO THE LITTLE EXISTING SPACE A TOWER WAS CREATED FOR THE PUBLIC SPACES AND THE DWARF’S HOUSE. IN THE BUILDING THAT IS SUSPENDED IS THE HOUSE OF THE GIANT. THE IDEA OF THIS PROJECT IS DIFFERENTIATE TWO VOLUMES FROM TWO BLADES THAT ORIGINATE THE ENTRANCE FOR BOTH HOUSES. ALL ITS INTERIOR SPACES ARE FULLY ADAPTED TO THE DWARF AND TO THE GIANT. THE ENTRANCE FOR THE PUBLIC SPACE IS MADE THROUGH THE STAIRS THAT ARE UNDER THE BUILDING, CREATING THE FEELING OF DENSITY BUT AT THE SAME TIME LIGHTNESS BECAUSE IT’S SUSPENDED.

The Museum’s Building mass maximizes direct urban street views toward the waterfront and continuity between the site and the city’s historic urban fabric.The building skyline is carefully designed to act as a unifier, integrating Eteläsatama within the rest of the historic waterfront skyline, connecting the existing historical landmarks of Uspenski Cathedral, Stora Enso Oyj Building, Helsinki Cathedral, Old Market Hall, the Palace Hotel building to the North, and Olympia Terminal and Tähtitornin vuori park to the South together both visually and physically. It creates a new place to bring the people of Helsinki together, landmark unifier where they can freely meet and enjoy the waterfront.

Sustainability/FeasibilityKey sustainability strategies maximize: locally sourced materials, recyclablematerials including wood and steel structure, offsite prefabrication for construction, form integrated passive and active energy strategies through thermal insulation, natural lighting, ventilated rooftops with high SRI wood finish and efficient heat-exchange system. Innovative summer seasonal treatment lowers relative humidity through passiveairflow design to enhance thermal comfort zone. Maximum natural lighting condition is proposed as most suitable to Finnish climate. We implement energyefficient use of district cooling system and passive design displacement ventilationsolutions, involving low ductwork velocities and relatively high cooling temperatures.
Column free exhibition spaces are achieved through simple and cost efficient wall to wall structural solutions. A directional glulam structural woodframe with supporting steel cable truss will compose the light, transpar-ent and aesthetically pleasing atrium space. A cantilevered exhibition spaceis resolved through providing a chamfered profile with optimized steel structural bracing for minimal cost.
