May lead to entire\partial damage of equipment, and if not taken care properly can lead to major fire hazard.

How to avoid…Always connect a 3 pin power chord to ensure patient and operator safetyCheck the power chord skin for any peeling off.Check for Strain reliefEnsure chord properly connected to equipmentDo not use a multiple receptacleEnsure that AC plug is proper, if it is loose from wall inform electrical department before connecting the equipment.Try to avoid using an electrical extension box

Fluid Spillage

“If water or any fluid spillage went inside the equipment it can cause

short circuit which then leads to damage of the equipment.”

How to Avoid…..

Do not keep any fluid containers over any equipment.

Keep IV sets away from the equipments.

CLEANING

Do not rinse or wipe surfaces

Do not place in an AUTOCLAVE nor IMMERSE the device

Use a cloth soaked in DETERGENT-DISINFECTANT, previously diluted with water if required

Take care also with ALCOHOL BASED SPRAYS (20% - 40% alcohol). They lead to tarnishing and small cracks in the plastic casing.

Storage

should be stored in a dry and cool placeIn case of prolonged storage time, disconnect the battery through the battery door located on the rear panel . This operation should be made by biomedical engineer

OperationWhile in use ensure that No IV sets are connected straight above the unit, as it may cause fluid spilage and damage the machine or cover the unit with water proof material.

Ensure that clamps are properly fixed.Ensure that power cord are connected properly

Things to check before start using the equipments…….

Examine the unit for overall conditionChassis/Housing

MountScrew and brackets that attach the unit to an IV pole should be secure and functioning. If the device is mounted on a stand or cart, examine the condition of the mount. Also examine the pole, stand, or cart.

AC Plug/Receptacles

Examine the AC power plug for damage

Line Cord

Inspect the cord for signs of damage. If damaged, replace the entire cord .

Inspect drop sensors and remote air-inline detector cables for general condition

Move or shift while break is on…

Clean with alcoholic solvants….

Disconnect any cables and accessories before shifting……

Do’s…

Always connect to mains power source…

Ensure brake is on while operation….

Always connect proper power chord…

Don’t use multiple multiple receptacles….

Always connect a 3 pin power chord as it ensures the operator

and patient safety……

Ensure proper length of power chords….
