SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.3 (SP03)
Installation
This document contains the detail information installing NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS).
Prerequisites:
3 GB free space and 2 GB RAM
Windows XP 32-bit or Windows Vista 32-bit or Windows Server 2008 64-bit or
Windows 7 32-bit or Windows 7 64-bit
IE 7 or 8
Administrative permission for the operating system
If you have a previous version, uninstall it before installing this one.
Installation Steps:
Download and unzip the program archive.
Download and install the JDK from the web site where you downloaded NWDS. (You
must use the 32 bit version. Multiple JDKs can coexist on the same machine, but you
must have the 32 bit one for access by this program.)
Install the following programs:
o vcredist_86.msi (select Yes for install or repair)
o ibrfc32.msi
o sapchart.msi
o WDAdobeControlSetup.msi
Open the eclipse subdirectory where you unzipped the Developer Studio Application.
o Click on and run SapNetWeaverDeveloperStudio.exe
o You will be asked to select a workspace – specify a location where you would
like to store your files.

o On initial startup the system will look for the location of Javaw.exe – The file
usually is in the location below or (similar). (Note, you are telling the system
where to find the JVM that is a part of the JDK. You must download and install
the JDK and then point the install to that JVM.)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_26\bin
Installation is now complete; you can restart Developer Studio by clicking on
SapNetWeaverDeveloperStudio in the folder. You might want to make a shortcut
icon to this application.

Configuration
R/3 Configuration
Window → Preferences
Destination Configurations → R/3 Configuration
Click on the Add button:

Select Single Server tab and fill out form and click OK:
Note, the password is “password”.

Select SAP as Java:
Select Add:
Fill out form and click OK:

The first application that you run (Visual Composer or Web Dynpro for Java),
the following request should occur:
A password will be provided in a class lab activity.
