    [Ranged Weapon Traits]

    [The following Traits appear on weapon tablesthroughout this chapter. In some cases, theTraits supplement or supersede the genericTraits given in the World of DarknessRulebook.]

    [DamageThe number of bonus dice addedto a characters dice pool when using theweapon. A notation of 9 again or 8 againindicates that the appropriate systempermutation applies(see p. 134, the World ofDarkness Rulebook).]

    [RangesThese numbers are the weaponsshort/medium/long ranges in yards. Attacks atmedium range suffer a 2 penalty, while thoseat long range suffer a 4.]

    [CapacityThe amount of rounds a gun canfire with before needing to replace their thermalclip. if a full thermal clip is not fully used in ascene, it's not expended, and the weapon mayfire full capacity before requiring a new thermalclip during the next scene.]

    [StrengthThe minimum Strength required touse the weapon effectively. For rangedweapons, this factors in both the weaponsrecoil and its physical bulk. If a charactersStrength is lower than this requirement, shesuffers the difference as a penalty to her attackrolls. For example, a character with Strength 1trying to fire a gun with a minimum Strength 4suffers a 3 penalty. Some guns are capableof automatic fire, which is harder to controlthan single shots. For such a weapon, a

    parenthetical set of three additional valuesindicates the weapons Strength requirementsfor short, medium and long bursts forexample, 2 (2/3/4). This score is reducedbased on a characters race and class choices]

    [SizeThe weapons Size, per the World ofDarkness Rulebook (p. 135). As Sizecategories are fairly broad, an additionalnotation after the Size of each item with Size 1or 2 indicates the amount of clothing underwhich a normal- sized character can concealthe gun: P (Palm/Pocket), S (Shirt), J (Jacket),L (Long coat) or N (Not concealable). While it is notgenerally deployed in the military, due tocommonality of kinetic barriers, its still verypopular in the Terminus Systems where thesedefenses are less common.]

    [M-5 Phalanx][The M-5 Phalanx is the product of theAlliance's Offensive Handgun Project thatdeveloped a close-in weapon to be used onarmored or shielded targets with no loss ofstopping power in comparison to the soldier'sassault rifle. The Phalanx enjoys a ballisticsadvantage even over most "hand cannons"and features an integral laser sight which ishighly visible even in bright lighting conditions.Civilian variants are often purchased bycolonists on planets that have particularlydangerous big game animals.]

    [M-6 Carnifex][The Carnifex is a favored sidearm ofmercenary leaders and Eclipse mercenary techspecialists. An expensive but powerfulweapon. Its marketing materials feature acharging krogan with the slogan, "Don't youwish Carnifex was at your side?" Highlyaccurate and effective against armor theCarnifex has Armor Piercing 1.]

    [Shotguns are the predatory reptiles of thefirearm world, direct modern evolutions ofcenturies-old designs. Shotguns feature large-bore barrels and use heavy, low-velocityrounds, making them brutal at close range butineffective over distance.]

    [M-22 Eviscerator][The Lieberschaft 2180 shotgun, or"Eviscerator," is of human civilian design andhas a unique ammunition generator. Wheremost modern firearms shave off chips orpellets from an ammunition block, the M-22shaves off serrated metal edges designed tofly aerodynamically. This dramatically improvesits accuracy, and its tight grouping helps

    [M-300 Claymore][Very rare krogan shotgun. Deals high damageat short range; less effective at long range. It isof human design but is primarily used bykrogan, due to the fact that the kickback from asingle shot has enough force to break aweaker beings arm. Protected by Fabrication

    Rights Management (FRM) technology, thisweapon is nearly impossible to reproduce andis prohibitively expensive. The Claymore mustbe manually cooled after each shot]

    the Shuriken machine pistol has a reputationfor being deadly and easy to use.]

    [M-9 Tempest][This submachine gun fires in long deadlybursts. Inaccurate at long range. Thecommonality of kinetic barriers has led toincreased demand for rapid-fire weapons likethe Tempest. Produced by Elanus RiskControl Services for the Eclipse mercenaryband, the Tempest is an expensive but deadlyaddition to anyones personal arsenal.]

    [M-Locust][The Kassa Fabrications Model 12 Locust is

    a compact submachine gun developed for theAlliance but now favored by gang enforcersand hitmen. Featuring a complex recoil-reducing mechanism and high-grade autotargeting software, the Locust delivers longer-range, more accurate fire than others in itsclass.]

    [M-98 Widow][An accurate and deadly anti-material rifleweighing in at 39 kilograms, the Widow Anti-Material Rifle is primarily used by sniper teamsin assault missions against armored vehicles orkrogan.     Talents Conceptual Overview

    Dots in talents grant powers and most powers are

    activated using barriers, vitality, or thermal clips.

    Powers are single events or last for a scene save for

    all 4th dot powers, the basic, combat, and tactical

    armor powers, and Thermal capacity; which are

    passive and always active.

    Talents are primarily combat focused.

    Ammo modifications have been forgone for powers

    and instead going to be one time use equipment.
