Hybrid or Turbo power? The choice is yours

Renowned globally as leaders in the development

of robust and efficient hybrid technology, Lexus has

ensured there is a leading edge Lexus Hybrid Drive

petrol-electric hybrid engine available in every

grade in the NX range.

Additionally an all-new petrol turbo engine appears

in the NX for the first time in the Lexus range.

This newly developed 175kW unit is the first ever

Atkinson Cycle turbocharged engine and is paired

with a six-speed automatic transmission featuring a

suite of advanced technologies, including AI-Control

(Artificial Intelligence Control) which automatically

changes shift patterns in response to road conditions

and driver inputs for a spirited and involving on-road

experience.

Both 2.5 litre Lexus Hybrid Drive and 2.0-litre petrol

turbo engines also incorporate Lexus’ Stop & Start

system as standard. Unobtrusively switching the

engine off when the vehicle has come to a stop,

the Stop & Start system can reduce fuel consumption

and CO2

emissions during around-town commuting.

The engine restarts in less than half a second after the

brake pedal is released, seamlessly giving the driver

full acceleration.

Mixing the dynamic with the dramatic, the NX pre-

mium compact SUV further evolves Lexus’ L Finesse

design philosophy. While many signature details stand

out, such as the aggressive ‘spindle’ grille and intricate

and emotive LED headlight clusters (including distinc-

tive L-shaped Daytime Running Lights), other design

elements are the NX’s alone.

Along the flanks, robust overfenders tucked inside

aggressively flared arches give the NX a bold,

road-holding stance. Dramatic lines run the length

of the SUV, drawing the eye to another Lexus

hallmark; the tapered arrow-like window line

recessed into the c-pillar. A two level spoiler adds

a unique design element to the rear, as well as

improving aerodynamics.

Stylish 18” alloy wheels feature intricate designs,

with F Sport alloys boasting a distinctive machined

dark chrome finish. Advanced LED fog lights and

cornering lamps designed to improve visibility at

night, especially when turning through intersections,

make their debut on the NX range.

Interiors you’ll never want to leave

Attention to detail is prevalent in every aspect of the

NX, but perhaps nowhere more so than within the

luxuriously designed interior.

In addition to a high quality mix of synthetic and

genuine leather trim materials, soft-touch surfaces and

premium design details like the LFA supercar inspired

steering wheel, the level of onboard technology in the

NX has to be experienced to be believed.

Standard on F Sport and Limited grades, the Panoramic

View Monitor consists of four cameras placed around

the vehicle, which display composite footage of the

entire car, giving the driver a virtual bird’s-eye view

of the vehicle and its immediate surroundings.

A world first touch sensitive overhead LED light

system does away with fussy switches above the centre

console, instead allowing the driver and front seat

passenger to engage map and personal lights with

a simple hand swipe across the surface.

Complimenting this within the centre console itself is

the all-new third generation Remote Touch Interface

(RTI) system. Again featuring a touchpad, the system

allows access to audio, climate control air conditioning,

satellite navigation and vehicle data, utilising intuitive

smartphone-like gestures.

And before you even step inside, you’ll note the

redesigned exterior door handles. These feature LED

illumination timed to fade out in accordance with the

rituals of a traditional Japanese tea ceremony,

extending the idea of Japanese hospitality to the NX.

Now that’s attention to detail.

All-wheel drive models feature a newly-developed

AWD system, reengineered to work seamlessly with

both the hybrid and turbo engines. All grades arrive

with generous levels of standard specification;

convenience features like a powered back door with

height memory and anti-jam functionality, advanced

LED fog lights and cornering lamps, integrated audio

systems and Bluetooth hands-free functionality are

standard items.

A sharp focus on safety

Sporting a comprehensive airbag package, Vehicle

Stability Control (VSC) and Traction Control (TRC),

the NX range also features Hill Start Assist (HAC)

to prevent the vehicle from moving backwards when

accelerating away on an incline. NX F Sport and

Limited models alert the driver to vehicles outside

the field of peripheral vision with a Blind Spot

Monitor (BSM) system and also feature front and

rear parking sensors. All models have a 5 Star

EuroNCAP safety rating.

NX F Sport and Limited grades also incorporate

All Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which

significantly enhances both convenience and safety

when driving in traffic. Utilising the same milliwave

radar as the Pre-Collision Safety System (PCS),

not only will the All Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise

Control ensure the NX remains separated from

the vehicle in front, the system will also slow the

NX smoothly to a complete stop while maintaining

the distance to the vehicle in front throughout

the entire deceleration process.

All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is also

available in NX300h 2WD, NX200t 2WD and

NX200t 4WD as part of the optional Safety Pack.

The Lexus NX range blends the nimble practicality

of a compact SUV with head-turning good looks

electric hybrid or petrol turbo powered and in any

F Sport models add dynamic accents to the exterior,

such as the aggressive grille finish and grade-specific
