Red Dead RedemptionXbox3605/18/10Reviewed By: Nara

Enter: John Marston, a former gang member turned bounty hunter, on a mission from the government to capture his former gang members, turned rivals. Left for dead, Marston learns the tricks of the trade and how to survive in the Wild West. From hunting to robbing, poker to arm wrestling, build up your fame in order to become “The Legend of the West.”

It’s definitely the little things that make this game so enjoyable! I often lose track of the main story missions and find myself riding around, causing trouble! With GTA-like mechanics and game play, this is more than just your average western. Decide to be an Outlaw or a Paragon. How will you respond when your freedom’s on the line? Either way, you’ll make a name for yourself. Many surprises await you in the early settler days and is a welcomed break from the fast pace of the city.

Page 5: NyX Pages Issue 2

LIKES

• Amazing graphics

• Side missions

• The Honor & Fame system helps to set the tone of your character. This affects how the NPC’s react to your presence.

• Co-op missions

• Animals respond accordingly

DISLIKES

• Almost no customization

• A little buggy

• Multiplayer ranking system is unreliable. There is no “server-side” system, which encourages cheating.

• No real level of difficulty. It’s the same pace throughout the game.

Crackdown 2Xbox3607/6/10Reviewed By: DG

Developed by Ruffian Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios. I loved the first crackdown and couldn’t wait for the second one. Even after seeing some of the disappointing trailers, I still had hope for this game. It’s always a blast to cruise Pacific City with your buddies and clean up the streets from terrorists and infected mutants. Jumping the rooftops searching for glowing green orbs is fun too. No doubt Crackdown 2 is fun, but I was expecting much more. The story line is boring and way too short.

The AI lacks any traces of intelligence. Every encounter with the AI is the same old thing. The mutants didn’t have much of a purpose in this game, except for making great road kill. There was just way too much copy and paste from the original Crackdown. If you want to jump around rooftops in the search for green orbs, than Crackdown 2 is fun. It’s not worth the sixty-dollar price tag. If you have yet to play the first Crackdown, I definitely suggest picking up a copy.

Page 7: NyX Pages Issue 2

LIKES

• Online Co-op• Assortment of vehicles/weapons • Open world game play• Orb collecting• Power ups/level ups

DISLIKES

• Story line• Short and boring campaign• Too much was reused from the first Crackdown

Conker: Live & ReloadedXbox6/21/05

Who doesn’t love a foul-mouthed, alcoholic squirrel with a hot squirrel girlfriend? Rare’s second take on Conker’s Bad Fur Day for N64 was re-released and LIVE-enabled for Xbox. The news of the Xbox port made me do a happy dance!

It follows Conker after a long bender, in search of a way home. Not knowing where he is, and hung over, Conker finds himself sidetracked by the prospect of money that somehow appears along the way. Meanwhile, the Panther King, ruler of this odd world, is looking for a brand new red squirrel to fill the gap on his 3-legged table so his milk doesn’t spill anymore. Just when he has it all figured out, his girlfriend is captured by weasel mafia members in order to turn her into an exotic dancer.

Will he choose the cash or the girl? *Lightbulb* Take Conker through a movie satire-enriched world, full of puns, bad language & operatic poo monsters. Sounds like a kid game right? Who said Nintendo only made “kiddy games”?

LIKES

• The multiplayer was a great experience!

• Absolutely absurd storyline…it was great!

• Takes full advantage of popular culture at the time of release. Re-enact movie scenes with a kick.

• Created its own game genre: Rated ‘R’ for “Ridiculous.”

DISLIKES

• The multiplayer is no longer available.

• Censored version of the N64 original port. It has a “M” rating. Let the curse words fly!

• Not for everyone’s sense of humor. Adult themed and sometimes crass.

• Awkward controls, takes some time to get used to.

DLC Review

Dragon Age: Leliana’s Song DLC ReviewBioWare$7

Leliana fans will be happy for this DLC plot line. It fills in some gaps before the Origins story began and we find out why Leliana joined the Chantry.

Should you buy it? Only buy if you’re a Dragon Age Super Fan or if you are addicted to achievements.

LIKES

• More Dragon Age

• The music in this was amazing. • Unlock a piece of cool armor that transfers to the Origins and Awakening campaigns.

• 2 Achievements worth 75 points total!

DISLIKES

• Short. Even taking my extreme time it lasted maybe an hour.

• Graphics are not as polished as full game.

• Gameplay limited and linear.

Hello My Name is

Misajingles

When searching the different gaming communities we came across one cool female gamer named Misajingles.

Q: What is your occupation?A: I’m a graphic designer for a small company out of Minnesota, I mostly design TShirts & Embroidered Emblems

Q: What games have you been playing recently?A: I just finished the main storyline in Red Dead Redemption, and am now playing for 100% completion, I just bought Just Cause 2, but have yet to start it. I’m also towards the end of my 2nd play through of Oblivion.

Q: What got you into gaming and how long have you been a gamer?A: My first NES was a gift from my sister and her husband, but I didn’t really get into gaming until I played the first Tony Hawk on a friends Playstation. I’ve played off an on for years, until I got my 360 and discovered XBL and Left 4 Dead, which brought my love of gaming to an whole another level.

Q: What do you do with your time outside of gaming?A: I love to read, watch movies, and just meet people and try new things. Just having relocated has expanded my horizons. I enjoy cooking, walking, exploring, and happy hours.

Q: What’s your all time favorite weapon in a game?A: I think it would be Bioshock’s shotgun, after it’s totally upgraded, and has every type of ammo available.

Q: Favorite single player game?

A: Fallout 3. I’ve played it thru too many times to play it again, but I do long for it at random moments.

Q: Favorite multiplayer game?

A: Left 4 Dead. I’d choose 1 over 2. It changed how i look at video games. It was my first multiplayer, and now that I’ve played more of them, I still think it redefined how games should be made, thought about and designed.

Q: Favorite game overall and why?

A: I’d still have to go with Fallout 3. There are very very few things I can mention negatively towards that game. I’ve played through it 4 times and still know I haven’t seen a large percentage of what it has to offer. Everything about it is relaxing and fun to me.

Heroes: Season 42009 NR 5 discs / 18 episodes

Not the best season of the television series but you might as well watch the last one if you saw all the others! The saga ends with the fourth and final season of this popular series, as the everyday people turned powerful heroes continue to come to grips with their supernatural abilities and the dark forces that are waged against them. Joining series regulars Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar, Masi Oka and Hayden Panettiere for this exciting chapter are Robert Knepper (“Prison Break”), Madeline Zima (“Californication”) and Ray Park (Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace).

Nip/Tuck: Season 12003 NR 5 discs / 13 episodes

This is a show I am currently in the middle of watching and love! You can catch all six seasons on Instant Watch. It probably isn’t the best show to watch while eating dinner though. South Beach, Miami -- where looking good is a full-time job -- is the set-ting for Season 1 of this controversial series about plastic surgeons with ethics that often take a back seat to more pressing carnal (and financial) urges. Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMa-hon) have been partners for years, but Christian -- when he isn’t bed-ding patients -- covets Sean’s wife, Julia (Joely Richardson).

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Season 12008 NR 3 discs / 9 episodes

Yeah, we know the Terminator story but this is a great series that got canceled too fast. Both seasons are on Instant Watch so just watch it and you will see!In this series based on the popular Terminator action films, Sarah Connor (Lena Headey) must prepare her teenage son John (Thomas Dekker) for his destiny as leader of the human resistance in a future where intelligent machines have decided that mankind must be termi-nated. As they race to head off the pending apocalypse, they’re aided by a reprogrammed robot sent from the future to protect them -- and hunted by robotic assassins sent to kill them.

Veronica Mars: Season 12004 NR 6 discs / 22 episodes

All three seasons are on Instant Watch now and this is a great show to kill some time with. Although, I still think Veronica Mars should be renamed to the Chloe Sullivan Chronicles (my Smallville peeps will understand).Though Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) is only 17, she’s savvy enough to learn the ropes of crime-solving from her father (Enrico Colantoni), an ex-cop turned private eye in the sleepy town of Neptune, Calif., as she tries to track down her best friend’s murderer. No case is too daunting for Veronica, but when it comes to navigating the perils of high school -- such as avoiding her ex (Teddy Dunn) -- she must stumble through it all like her peers.

X-Men2000 PG 13104 minutes

A classic that every geek needs to see at least two or three times.Amid increasing fear and bigotry, Professor Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) provides a safe haven for powerful outcasts like Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), Rogue (Anna Paquin) and Storm (Halle Berry), who are genetically gifted mutants -- and the world’s newest, most persecuted minority group. In an explosive battle for freedom and honor, the X-Men take on Magneto (Ian McKellen) and his band of evil mutants, who relish the public’s paranoia.

Zombieland2009 R 88 minutes

Just a great film…especially if you love zombies. An easily spooked guy, Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), joins forces with wild man Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) to fight for survival in a world virtually taken over by freakish zombies. As they destroy scores of the undead, they meet up with two other survivors, Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) and Wichita (Emma Stone), and journey to a supposedly safe abandoned amusement park. Ruben Fleischer directs this horror romp.

Rumba Energy

When lined up against other energy drinks, Rumba doesn’t look like much. Don’t be fooled, it’s one heck of a drink. Made from 100% juice and a non-carbonated energy drink. Rumba comes in three different flavors.

The original orange flavor is my favorite. It tastes just like orange juice, but with a little kick. Rumba gives level boost of energy and no crash. It can be tricky to find this drink. You can find a complete list of locations at their website www.rumbaenergyjuice.com.

Adding some vodka makes it just that much better.

Obituaries

Xbox 360 passed away unexpectedly on August 22 2010. She was born on April 14, 2006 and spent her days defending the human race against the Covenant and Locust. She had a passion for driving fast, hanging out with piñatas, tossing cards around in Uno and capturing a few headquarters. She will truly be missed.
