A beautiful weeping willow stood in agarden. His drooping branches were a pretty

green, and they would sway gracefullywhenever the breeze would blow. Everyoneloved the tree- that is, except for the tree itself.

If only I were tall, the weeping willow wouldsay. If only my branches would stretch high intothe sky, rather than touch the earth. If only I bore

fruit; Im so useless!A kind shepherd boy noticed the trees sadness,

and tried to cheer him up by singing and playing hisflute. But the weeping willow only grew sadder. It

was no use trying to make the weeping willow happywhen he refused to think of anything but his misery.

Then one day, something happened thatchanged Weepys outlook. A raging storm began. The wind blew fiercely and rain poured down. Inthe midst of the storm, Weepy saw a little girlstumbling through the pouring rain. The weeping

willow could hear her crying as she tried to make herway through the storm.

The girl made her way slowly towards the weepingwillow and stood before his drooping branches andleaves, shivering and frightened.

Protect her from the storm, the weeping willow heardGods whisper. Your branches and leaves will keep outsome of the wind and rain until she is found.

The tree opened his branches, making alittle doorway. The little girl walked through

the opening, and sat under the trees greatbranches. The weeping willow dropped his

softest leaves to make a bed for her. Covered

tenderly with Weepys branches and leaves she fellasleep, while the storm raged on outside.

The weeping willow was blissfully happy. Now hewas useful for something! He had saved a child fromthe storm and had made her happy, too. Howwonderful life seemed now!

By morning, the storm had ended. The tree smiledas the girl woke up. She yawned, rubbed her eyes and

smiled back at the weeping willow.

O choro ficou extremamente feliz. Agora ele tinha umautilidade!

fez feliz. Como a vida parecia maravilhosa agora!Pela manh, a tempestade tinha passado. A rvore sorriu

quando a garota acordou. Ela bocejou, esfregou os olhos e tambm

    sorriu para ele.

The weeping willow then saw the shepherdboy who used to sit under his branches before, running frantically towards them. The boy lookedlike he was searching for something. Or is itsomeone? Weepy thought.

The weeping willow opened its leaves, and thegirl ran to her brothers arms. They both hugged thetree tightly and kissed hisbark. Thank you, the girlsaid sweetly. You protected me from the storm.

How wonderful the weeping willow felt! His sadnesswas forgotten as he helped someone in need! The weeping

willow watched as the two children walked away together. He smiled with utter joy. Life was truly wonderful for him!

Obrigada.Disse a garotacom doura.Voc me protegeu da tempestade.

O choro viu as duas crianas

irem embora juntas. Ele sorriu cheio de felicidade. A vida eramesmo maravilhosa para ele!
