The 50s and 60s of the 20 th century was the heyday of the incense, firecracker and match industries. Take 1962 as an example, the gross value of production of incense, firecracker and match industries summed up to MOP 14.4 million, which had increased at least fourfold comparing to the gross value of production of these industries in 1929. At that time, there were at least 30 incense shops in Macao, making up a total of 120 together with the 90 retail stores selling incense and paper goods. There were 9 firecracker factories as well as 5 match factories. Women and children could even be seen doing tasks like braiding strings of firecrackers, rolling incenses and sticking labels on matchboxes everywhere to help their families and improve their lives, and these scenes were indeed unprecedented. In order to allow Macao residents to learn about the evolution of Macao’s traditional industries and understand the lives of Macao residents in the past, the Macao Museum has therefore planned “The Memorable Time – the Traditional Handicraft Industries of Macao”. The whole exhibition is divided into 6 zones – the incense industry zone, the match industry zone, the firecracker industry zone, the foreign trade zone, the scene simulation zone, the education zone and projection room, showcasing over 210 pieces/sets of exhibits, which include different promotional leaflets of Leong Wing Hing Incenses, plaque of Iec Long Firecracker Factory, black and white photos of the match production process of Tung Kee Match Factory, Hong Kong. Through displaying different types of exhibits, we endeavour to offer the general public some deep insights into the development of Macao’s traditional industries.   澳門的神香業及炮竹業早於1863年已經存在,而澳門

的火柴業出現的時間相對較晚,直至二十世紀二十年代才

出現火柴廠。

  二十世紀五、六十年代是神香業、炮竹業及火柴業的

全盛時期,以1962年為例,當時神香業、炮竹業及火柴業

合共生產總值已超過葡幣1,440萬元,比1929年之生產總

值至少增加4倍。當時澳門的神香店舖至少有30家,若連

同門市銷售香燭紙料的店舖約有的90多家,則合共約有

120家之多;炮竹廠約有9家;火柴廠則有5家。當時澳門

的大街小巷到處都看到婦孺老少從事搓香、擯炮及貼火柴

盒等工作,以幫補家計,改善生活,這些情景可謂蔚為

盛況。

  為了讓澳門居民認識澳門傳統行業的演變,瞭解過往澳門居民

的生活面貌,澳門博物館特此策劃《崢嶸歲月──澳門傳統手工業

展》,整個展覽分設神香業展區、火柴業展區、炮竹業展區、對外

貿易展區、模擬場景展區及教育區六大展區,並設有放映區。展出

之展品超過210件/套,包括梁永馨香莊各款宣傳招紙、益隆炮竹廠

之牌匾、香港同記火柴廠多幀製作火柴流程的黑白相片等等,透過

展出各類型之展品,力求讓公眾全面地瞭解澳門傳統行業的發展。

As indústrias de panchões e pivetes existiam

desde 1863, enquanto que a indústria de fósforos

desenvolveu-se posteriormente, tendo a primeira

fábrica de fósforos surgida em 1920.

Nos anos 50 e 60 do século XX foram os períodos

áureos das indústrias de pivetes, panchões e fósforos,

tendo como por exemplo, em 1962 o valor bruto da

produção do pivete, panchão e fósforo ascendeu a

14.4 milhões de patacas, a qual foi multiplicada por

quatro, em comparação com o valor bruto da

produção destas indústrias em 1929. Nessa altura

havia pelo menos 30 lojas de pivetes em Macau,

perfazendo um total de 120 lojas, em conjunto

com 90 distribuidores que vendiam também

pivetes e acessórios de reza. Havia por volta

de 9 fábricas de panchões e 5 fábricas de

fósforos. Naquele tempo, diversas

fábricas ficavam em torno de Macau, o

processo de fabricação decorria não

apenas nas fábricas, como também em

casas e nas ruas, onde até as mulheres e

crianças se ocupavam de várias fases do

fabrico para melhorarem as suas vidas, trabalhos que

consistiam em agrupar os tubos do panchão, enrolar os

paus do pivete e colar os rótulos nas caixas de fósforos.

Isso era uma situação inédita em Macau.

A exposição “O Tempo Memorável — As Indústrias

do Artesanato Tradicional de Macau” reflecte diversas

áreas temáticas, como por exemplo, a indústria de

pivetes, panchões e fósforos, o comércio no exterior,

uma fábrica modelo, a educação e sala de projeção para

que o público possa conhecer pormenorizadamente

sobre o passado de Macau, amando mais a cidade em

que nós vivemos. A presente exposição expõe mais de

210 peças/conjuntos para que o público possa conhecer

o desenvolvimento das indústrias tradicionais de

Macau, assim como, expõe diversos folhetos da loja de

pivetes Leong Wing Hing, placa da fábrica “Iec Long

Firecracker Factory”, várias fotografias a preto e branco

sobre o processo de produção de fósforos da fábrica

“Hong Kong Tong Kee Match

Factory” e algumas tabuletas das

fábricas Kuan Iec e Iec Long.
