According to deeds the OakGrove School building dates backto either 1893 or 1900 but theexact date is unknown. The building, which the Tourism Commission has tried to restorewith as much originality as possible, will portray a one-roomschoolhouse setting from the late1800s. Complete with antiquechildren's and teacher's desk,along with potbellied stove andblackboard, the Oak Grove School House will truly take itsvisitors back in time. It will serve as a display for many of OakGrove's historical artifacts and documents.

Located within Fort Campbell; tracesthe history of the “Screaming Eagles”from World War II engagements toVietnam to Operation Desert Storm.Just outside the museum, various air-craft, military equipment and monu-ments are on display. These massive machines are sure tocapture the imagination of every child and child-at-heart.

This 351-foot concrete obelisk was constructed to honor Jefferson Davis, theConfederate President during the Civil War.The monument is located at the site ofDavis’s birth. There is a visitors center, giftshop and picnic area on the grounds.

A 170,00-acre outdoor playground, Land Between the LakesNational Recreation Area is just a shortdrive from Oak Grove. LBL is an inlandpeninsula formed when the Cumberlandand Tennessee Rivers were impounded, creating Kentucky Lake and LakeBarkley. The area provides opportunitiesfor boating, fishing, hunting, horsebackriding, camping, and over 200 miles ofhiking trails.

Spring into Sumer Festival This 2-day event is free to the public and willinclude free carnival rides, pony rides, trainrides and various vendors. There will also beseveral different variety shows. Movies at the ViceOur popular Movies at the Vice are back at theWar Memorial Walking Trail Park and will runevery third Saturday through September.Come out and see your favorite family movieson our 40 foot screen. Salute to Fort Campbell Kick-OffHeld at the War Memorial Walking Trail in Oak Grove, this event signals the start of aweek long celebration that gives us the opportunity to say thank you to the Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division and their Families for all they do throughout the year to protect us.

The Annual Butterfly Festival Held in September, children will be able tomake environmental arts and crafts projectsfor free. There will be educational and interac-tive stage shows. Interact with live butterflies intheir habitat in our Butterfly House or let theMaster Gardeners take you on a tour of ourbeautiful Butterfly Garden.
