Group reservations can be made by calling 734-782-3956 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. We are happy to send you a School Outreach Application. Dates are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. All reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.

To schedule a program, have the following information ready:

· date and time you would like to visit · number of children · activities you would like to schedule · school address, email address and phone number

COS TI N - PA R KPrograms are $3 per student per hour, $45 minimum charge per group. For schools outside of Livingstion, Macomb, Oakland, Washtenaw and Wayne Counties, programs are $4 per student per hour. Vehicle Permit required for park entry, excluding school buses.

EDV E N T U R EThese programs are at your school.Cost is $100 for the first program, $75 for additional programs the same day. There is a maximum of four programs per day, with 30 students per program (subject to change due to topic choice)

CO N T EN T E XPEC TAT I O N SAll programs meet the Michigan Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE), Next Generation Science Standards and support Common Core standards.

GENERAL INFORMATION · These programs are designed to highlight Michigan’s plants, animals and ecosystems.

· Programs are generally 1 hour, starting between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

· There is a group minimum of 15 children and maximum of 35 children.

· Park entry is $7 per vehicle per day. School buses are free.

NATURE CENTER PROGRAMS · One of the following programs will be presented by an interpreter. All participants will have the opportunity to explore the Exhibit Room.

· In these programs, students will enjoy a ¾ to 1 mile guided walk.

· Signs of the season will be emphasized along with elements of the previously mentioned subjects for each grade level or other topics of interest (when possible).

P R E S C H O O LStudents will be introduced to the animals that live right in their own backyard through the use of study skins, mounts and live animals.FOCUS: basic needs ∙ habitat ∙ adaptations ∙ observable traits

P R E - K & U P · 9 0 M I N U T E S · M I D - S E P T E M B E R – O C T O B E R · 6$/ S T U D E N T This fun and exciting program is designed to immerse the kids in the sights, smells and tastes of autumn. The program consists of a hayride, cider pressing, cider and donuts, leaf printing and an autumn hike.We can accommodate two classes per day. Each class (up to 30 students) will be split into two groups.

5 T H G R A D EExplore the plants and animals that thrive in a wetland habitat, and discover the specialized life strategies and adaptations that allow them to live in this awesome habitat.
