Ron has a good test weight, similar to those of Esker. The heading date of Ron is about 1 day earlier than Drumlin and 3 days later than Esker. Ron has similar height to Drumlin and is slightly shorter than Esker with lodging equal to Badger. BYDV tolerance is comparable to that of Esker, Drumlin and Horsepower. Crown rust resistance is very good, comparable to Forage Plus. Ron is a U.S. Plant Protected Variety (PVPA 1994).
