Oberá means ‘the one that shines’ in Guaraní language. Founded on July 9th, 1928, it is the second city in Misiones Province.

Oberá was the place chosen by numerous immigrants to settle down. This together with its beauty and the friendliness of its people, make the

city a great place to visit.

In Oberá you can visit “El Parque de las Naciones”, where typical houses from the countries the immigrants come from were built. Every year ‘The National

Immigrants’ Festival’ takes place in September, where descendants show their roots. More than fifteen ethic groups join in a friendly party to show the world their tradition, typical houses, clothes, dishes, music, dances and

handicrafts.

Nearby the city, there are amazing outdoor-places you can visit like ‘The Birds’ Garden, where you can find a great variety of colorful birds.

To be in contact with nature, you can visit ‘Berrondo Waterfall’ and camping with swimming pools, natural parks, lakes for fishing and field

for ecological games in the forest.

If you look for night life and entertainment you can visit clubs and discos, casino, restaurants and public places, they are ideal to relax and have a

good time.

Another attractive feature is the different churches. There are more than one hundred temples with 33 different creeds and cults coexist in one

city. For this reason, Oberá is ‘the church city’
