Plus chromatic scale (2 octaves preferred) 2. SOLO. Solo should best represent student’s technical and artistic playing abilities. An etude, sonata or concerto preferred. 3. EXCERPT. Prepare the below excerpt at the tempos marked. We strongly suggest that you listen to recordings of the orchestral works you are required to prepare. 4. SIGHT READING.
