Obstetric Medicine Update, 2018

Dear Colleagues,

Greetings!

We are glad to welcome you to the 6th Obstetric Medicine Update 2018 and the 18th Annual CME of Fernandez Hospital. This is the fourth time that Fernandez Hospital Educational & Research Foundation is collaborating with Fernandez Hospital and the Society of Obstetric Medicine, India (SOMI) to organize this conference on 30th November, 1st and 2nd December 2018 at Marriott Hotel, Hyderabad. SOMI was established in 2010 and it aims to facilitate dissemination of knowledge of medical illnesses in pregnancy and improve the care of such mothers.

We are pleased to convey that each of our last four CMEs had an attendance of more than 700 delegates from across the country and were much appreciated.

The Conference theme is “Obstetric Medicine: Minimising Morbidity” and the scientific programme will address the risk factors in mothers that contribute to maternal and fetal morbidity and their management in pregnancy and postpartum (thereby reducing fetal and maternal morbidity) through case-based discussions, panel discussions and lectures by various international and national faculty.

We are privileged to have Prof. Jason Gardosi and Dr. Lucy Mackillop from the UK. Dr. Mackillop is the Consultant Obstetric Physician at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer, Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Oxford. She specializes in medical conditions unique to pregnancy as well as the management of pre-existent medical disorders occurring during pregnancy. She co-authored Greentop Guideline for VTE in Pregnancy and European Guideline for IBD in Pregnancy.

On 30th November 2018, there is a full day Pre-Conference Workshop on “Prevention of Stillbirths” by renowned obstetrician Prof. Gardosi, Director, Perinatal Institute, Birmingham, UK. He has been instrumental in reducing stillbirth rate in England through customized Fetal GROW Charts. His main interests are fetal growth, antepartum and intrapartum surveillance, perinatal epidemiology and clinical audit. We at Fernandez Hospital started using the GROW Charts and are able to identify and deliver growth restricted fetuses at appropriate time.

We are offering a concession in the registration fee for all SOMI members. Medical practitioners who wish to become members may please email their details to [email protected] and avail this offer.

Fernandez Hospital and SOMI invite obstetricians, gynaecologists, physicians, emergency medicine experts, anaesthesiologists and critical care experts to be an active part of Obstetric Medicine Update 2018.

Come – Participate – Learn – Enjoy!

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Tarakeswari S. Dr. Manokanth M. Dr. Hemamalini V. Organizing CommitteeObstetric Medicine Update – 2018
