OCB-283

All new technology switching systems are based on Stored Program Control

concept. The call processing programmes are distribted o!er di""erent control

organs o" the system and are stored in #O$ % #A$ o" di""erent control nits.

Processor in the control nits by sing the programme and data stored in

nit #O$ % #A$ process and handle calls. &andling or processing call means to

ltimately establish a connection in a switch between i%c and o%g ends. 'epending

on the name and architectre o" control nits and switch may change bt criterion

"or switching remains more or less the same

OCB-283 is digital switching system which spports a !ariety o"

commnication needs li(e basic telephony) *S'+) etc. This system has been

de!eloped by C*T A,CAT, o" rance and there"ore has many similarities to its

predecessor -/0B 1also (nown as OCB-/8/ in rance.

OCB-283 pro!ides a large nmber o" sbscriber "acilities. Some

"acilities are a!ailable to only digital sbscribers and as sch they cannot be

a!ailed by analog sbscribers. To a!ail these "acilities sbscriber nmber are

gi!en special categories by man machine commands.

The sbscriber is connected to another predetermined sbscriber on li"ting the

handset withot dialling any nmber.

D 'elayed hot line "acility-=hen sbscriber li"ts the handset) dial tone is pro!ided he can dial any nmber. *"

Abbre!iated dialling-

The sbscriber can record a short code and its corresponding "ll nmber in the

memory. ,ater he dial this nmber) he has to only dial short code.

D Call "orwarding-

=hen acti!ated) incoming calls to the sbscriber gets trans"erred to the nmber

mentioned by the sbscriber while acti!ating the "acility.

D Con"erence between "or sbscribers-

Two sbscribers while in con!ersation can inclde two more sbscribers bypressing btton and dialling their nmbers.

D Call waiting indication-

=hen a sbscriber is engaged in con!ersation and i" he gets an incoming call) an

indication is gi!en in the "orm o" tone. &earing this) the sbscriber has option)

either to hold the sbscriber in con!ersation and attend the waiting call or to

disconnect this sbscriber and attend the waiting call. *n the "ormer case) he can

re!ert bac( to the earlier sbscriber.

sbscriber simply replaces the recei!er. The system (eeps watch on the called
