1. Sarah Weldon 2. WHY? 3. WHY? 1) Knowing English as a foreign language can help to get a job, especially in tourism and business. (snake charming, scuba diving). 2)Knowing English as a foreign language can help apply for foreign aid and NGO funding. 3) Communities want to know how to care for and protect their environment. 4) Connecting with peers worldwide, helps to understand western and other values. Understanding of cultures, and needs. 5) More competitive for jobs (rural, city, proof). 4. WHY? Education allows young people to lift themselves and their families out of poverty. Education empowers young people, gives them a passport to opportunity and equality. Education can include knowledge on nutrition, child care, basic first aid.....saves lives. 5. THE PROBLEM? 6. THE SOLUTION 7. HOW ROZ HELPED? Read her blog and website, listened to podcast to practice English as a foreign language. She got Guinness World Records, an MBE, and never gave up, taking things oar stroke by oar stroke. Inspiration, Female. Never gave up. Environmental encounters and stories (plastic pollution, fishing). Brought the ocean alive. Media coverage and charity donations. 8. HOW WILL THAT HELP? Raise funds for Oceans Project, 500 provides an educational package to 1 children's project. Push communications technology to the brink. Teach 'live from the boat'. 3D film. Collect scientific data that will help understand our planet. Connect young people together with peers worldwide. Inspire young people, world firsts, world records. Perseverence.
