After three years of terrifying young children to within an inch of soaking their britches, Poor Farmer’s is at it again. Come be part of our Halloween Celebration on Oct 8th, 2016. Below is a schedule of events for this frightful night. There will be a hayride full of monsters, zombies, princesses and I’m sure we will see at least one Donald Trump. You will see campsites decorated in the scariest of garbs. Three to four foot tall witches, werewolves,

and whatchamacallits will be running around collecting as much candy as their little undead hearts can handle. To top off the evening, the Poor Farmer’s Activity Committee is proud to present the “Haunted Shelter”! If you haven’t been through this attraction before, make sure you buddy up with someone who has; this will increase your odds of…

Every-so-often, Poor Farmer’s has a young star that needs to be placed in the spotlight. This month let me point the light at Michael Mullen. Michael has been with Poor Farmer’s RV for two years and counting. He started with washing the sales units during the summer of 2015 and has since earned his place in the service department. Michael is enrolled in the Upper Valley Career Center and is currently utilizing their Advanced Work Placement program. This program allows Michael to take a couple courses in the morning then work for the rest of the day. This gives Michael the opportunity to develop certain skills and traits that are needed in today’s workforce. Michael’s main field of study will be diesel technology, which he gets some experience at Poor Farmer’s with some bigger class-A motorhomes. However, I think most of his education will come from working with the other technicians in the shop. Poor Farmer’s Service Manager, Marty Reed, has had a long history in the vehicle service industry. Marty is ecstatic with the work that Michael has been doing and

the clean, well-organized way he conducts himself. Kenny is the seasoned tech who is working side-by-side with Michael on a daily basis. Kenny is happy to have a teammate that is hard working, knowledgeable, and willing to learn new things. He also likes that Michael doesn’t wine and cry like so many techs he has worked with in the past. Kenny doesn’t take to well to crybabies. Some of Michael’s hobbies include washing his truck, I think he does this about three times a day because it is always clean as a whistle. He also enjoys running his four wheeler’s through the mud every once in a while.

The only downside to having Michael here at the campground is that we know one day he will leave to work on some high tech diesels. This young man is going to be successful at whatever endeavor he travels, but he will always have a place among his family at Poor Farmer’s. Keep it up Michael!

Charlie’s Chat is a monthly installment in The Monthly Chatter which

honors Charlie Ellis. Charlie was a friend to many and one of the hardest

working employees to ever grace the gravel roads of Poor Farmer’s.

Site of the Month

The Carl Springer Memorial Tractor & Engine Show/Flea Market was a great time for all. Although the rain came right at mid-day on Saturday, we still had a great time and surprisingly got a few pulls in before they had to shut ‘er down. Thank you to all of our vendors that made it out, including: Oliver’s, Chuck’s, Tony’s and Kettle Fixin’s.

Site of the Month goes to John and Debbie Guillozet (gee-oh-zee) at site #10. John and Debbie have made them a beautiful campsite and have recently added a magic flower bed. The reason it is magic is because one day there was a tree there, then I took the tree out and magically that evening there appeared a flower bed. John don’t mess around! Thanks to John and Debbie for all of their hard work in making their campsite SOTM material.

October 23, 10 AM At the Big Shelter

Come celebrate the glory of God with us Sunday morning after the pig roast. BTW, I know many of you will have to ask forgiveness for the gluttony you are going to partake in the night before… I’m not judging, just trying to help you stay in his good graces. I’ll be there.

If you haven’t already, stop in or call our Service Manager, Marty Reed, to schedule your winterization. The guys can come right down to your campsite and get your RV ready for the long cold winter ahead. Unless you’re going south to warmer weather. In which case stop in so we can size up your cargo compartments to see how many of us can fit. We won’t add too much weight, I promise.
