NORTH STUDENTS ATTEND WISCONSIN
EDUCATION FAIR
At the Wisconsin Education Fair, NHS students were able to
talk with representatives from nearly 100 colleges, technical
colleges, universities, trade schools, and the armed forces.
North had more than 100 students attend this event.
IMPORTANT HALLOWEEN GUIDELINES AT NORTH
Halloween is just around the corner. One of the many
traditions at North High School is the wearing of Halloween
costumes. Please remind your students to be mindful of the
district dress code as they start to design a costume for the
31st. Students can pick up a copy of the guidelines at the main
office reception desk.
Additionally, these guidelines will be placed on North High’s
website for access by both students and parents. Any costume
deemed inappropriate by an administrator will require the
student to change into street clothes and his/her opportunity
to wear a costume will end. Thank you for your help with
ensuring that everyone can enjoy a safe, respectful “Husky
Halloween.”
THE 2019 YEARBOOKS HAVE ARRIVED
For those who pre-paid, we will be distributing the books
during all lunch shifts this week (Monday, October 7 – Friday,
October 11, 2019.) This is the only time of the day this week
that yearbooks may be picked up. There are a limited number
of production over-runs (extra books) available for
purchase—price is $60. Those extra books may be purchased
beginning next week (Monday, October 14) in room 347
between classes from 7:30 am to 3:00 p.m. Graduated seniors
may have a younger sibling or give written permission to a
friend to allow him/her to pick up their book for them.
The Academic and Career Planning Team is planning another
important ACP Instructional Day for the month of October.
Below you will find the topics that will be covered:
Grade Level Academic and Career Planning Topic

COCA-COLA COMES TO THE
DOGHOUSE
Last week Coca-Cola representatives, Angela Payne and
Briana Hutman, joined the North Daktronics students for an
hour of show and tell, questions, ideas, brainstorming and
a ton of fun! This is Coke’s fourth year of supporting the
Daktronics Video Scoreboard program at North High
School.
After meeting the new Daktronics Team for the season, the
students showed off what they’ve already learned and
talked about what they’re hoping to accomplish during
this season in the Doghouse.
Thank you to all our sponsors who continue to support our
North High School Students in the classroom and on the
court. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Thanks for
making this type of learning possible at North High School!

SICK CHILD GUIDELINES
In an effort to maintain the good health of all of our students,
please refrain from sending your child to school if they are sick.
This will reduce the overall number of illnesses among the
students.
If a child exhibits any of the following symptoms at school, a
parent/guardian/emergency contact will be notified to come and
pick up the student:
• Temperature of 100.4° or more
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting
• Persistent coughing
• Draining or spreading rash
Please keep your child home if he/she currently has or has had
any of these symptoms in the last 12 hours.
If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact
your child’s school nurse. If you have any questions about your
child’s symptoms, please contact your child’s primary care
provider.

SENIORS - MAKE APPOINTMENT
WITH YOUR COUNSELOR
Seniors, please make an appointment first quarter to see
your counselor for your senior meeting. Counselors will
meet with every senior to discuss credits, graduation
requirements, as well as post-secondary planning.
SENIOR PORTRAIT SUBMISSION
FOR THE
YEARBOOK
The North High School
Yearbook staff would like to
remind parents and students
of the Class of 2020 that
senior pictures should be
taken during the summer
months. Since senior portraits
are traditionally printed in
color, the deadline for
submission to be included in
the yearbook is Friday,
January 3 -- FIRM. Don’t be
disappointed; schedule an
appointment with the
photographer of your choice soon.
Only digital photos are accepted for use in the yearbook.
We also suggest that a more traditional pose (head and
shoulders) works best in the yearbook. If you request it,
most photographers in the area will submit a camera-ready,
digital photograph to the school directly as a service to you.
Please request they send the (minimum) wallet-sized file as
a jpeg with a minimum of 300 dpi resolution to
[email protected]. All you need to do is select your pose
and place the order.
