ALLEN MACINNIS Artistic Director
Message From the Artistic & Executive Directors
The playbill for this milestone 50th Anniversary Season at YPT features the return of beloved audience favourites, re-imagined classics and innovative new work — each a reflection of YPT founder Susan Rubes’ philosophy: Only the best is good enough for children.
Through our professional productions and expanded learning programs at the newly-named Ada Slaight Education Centre at YPT, our 50th season strives to embody an important principle. At Young People’s Theatre the “best” for children is what gives them the optimal chance to thrive… now and into their futures.
The creation of The Ada Slaight Education Centre at YPT is a milestone in the evolution of educational programming for Young People’s Theatre. This centre, established as a result of a generous donation from The Slaight Family Foundation, makes it possible for us to expand, deepen and enrich our already extensive educational initiatives.
This season our Drama School specifically will see increased programming in all three locations. Even better, we have just opened a fourth location in East Toronto. We will soon be able to offer special production-related courses on weekends, and are also planning new Weekday Programs during after-school hours.
We know this new Centre will be a hub of activity and we hope you and your family will stay connected and grow with us! Check out what we are up to at youngpeoplestheatre.ca.
You can stay in touch with YPT on Facebook and Twitter (#YPT50), and be the first to hear about special offers and events by signing-up for E-Alerts at youngpeoplestheatre.ca.
YOU’RE INVITED TO A YEAR-LONG BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION—JOIN US!
