Education Through Diversity October 16-20, 2017 06 HAPPENING THIS WEEK Tournament JV Football Tournament, Day 2 @ GIS Oct. 31 School Spirit Day - Halloween NIS at UNESCO Project Art Wall “It was incredible to see educators from all over the world taking photos of NIS students’ artwork. It’s so great that our students had this opportunity to show their talents at this major international event.” "Creativity is the secret ingredient to science, technology, engineering, and math.” From October 10-12, 10 pieces of student artwork from the NIS Peace Day Art Competition were displayed in the UNESCO Project Art Wall exhibition at the Worlddidac Asia International Expo and Conference in Bangkok. There were hundreds of art pieces from schools all around Southeast Asia. The NIS section was located at the entrance of the Asia Education Leaders Forum theater. More than 1,000 people viewed NIS’ artwork as they entered the theater to attend lectures by world renowned professors, deans, and inventors who spoke about STEM and best practices in education. Worlddidac Asia chose 16 pieces to be featured on their Facebook page. This post was also shared on the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Facebook page. Three of those 16 art pieces were from NIS students: Kaembum (grade 7) and Aey, Gai, and Amy (grade 12).
