October 4th meeting at Tick Tock contOctober 4th meeting at Tick Tock contOctober 4th meeting at Tick Tock contOctober 4th meeting at Tick Tock cont’’’’dddd…………We discussed the upcoming Halloween party at Salvation Army on October 29th from 2 to 4PM. Members are asked to donate candy, prizes and drinks….see Lee for details. Lee is open to ideas for entertainment for the kids.

The Sunset Club is holding a big Bunco party at the Pinewood Mobile Home Estates Clubhouse, where Lee & Judy live; thank you Lee & Judy. It’s across the street from the Derby Lane dog track. More info to follow on this...all invited to attend. Their Casino Night was cancelled, and the Bunco party will replace it. The date is November 19th from 6-10 PM.

Chuck invited everyone to attend the Breakfast club’s annual Bacchanalian Bloody Mary Breakfast on December 15th at Kissin’ Cuzzins Restaurant on 34th St. No. The time is 7:00AM. They will have a good speaker and a nice 50/50.

There will be another zone yard sale/flea market for those clubs who are interested. It will be held again at Ric & Betty Jo’s Club 28 parking lot….more details to follow.

The 1st qtr. Conference will be held in Orlando the first week end of November. You will find the registration form on line and at the district site (nfdoi), thanks to Dave Dawley.

C.J. suggested that we each donate some money to make our server, Jackie, a member. Viki offered a better deal. Viki said she would pay for Jackie’s membership for one year. Viki, you are a great Optimist and we are proud to have you as a member!!

Laura had the winning ticket for the 50/50 but drew a five of spades. Actually, Scott drew for her as she hurt her leg and was not walking too well.

Scott thanked all for attending, and adjourned at 7:20PM. A Board meeting followed.

A special thanks to Chuck for taking notes while Sharon was on vacation.

The Optimist Creed

Promise Yourself -To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
