I was driving to work the other morning and looked across 435 highway at the trees and thought, wow, there’s only a few green leaved trees’ left. It seems like that happens every year, all of a sudden I look and Summer is gone and Fall has arrived. I love our changing seasons though, except for the icy roads in the winter. Based on all the positive feedback, I think everyone thoroughly enjoyed our “Back to School Picnic” on Thursday, September 22 nd …..especially the Walkin’ Taco’s. I think there may have even been some families that may adopt this as one of their family meals at home. Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our first ever “Pirate Pumpkin Festival & Teacher Chili Cook- off” on Friday, October 21 st . I hope you all come out and enjoy some chili and fun Fall activities! It’s going to be a blast! As always, PTA is always striving to improve in all areas and will be happy to hear any comments or

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our first ever “Pirate Pumpkin Festival & Teacher Chili Cook-

off” on Friday, October 21st. I hope you all come out and enjoy some chili and fun Fall activities! It’s

going to be a blast!

Reflections Theme - "Diversity Means..."Each year, the National PTA Reflections Program challenges students to create art inspired by a specific theme. Themes are selected from hundreds of ideas submitted by students in the PTA Reflections Program Theme Search Contest. Past themes have included "Exploring New Beginnings," "If I Could Give the World a Gift...," "A Different Kind of Hero," “I Can Make a Difference by…” and “Wow!” and "Together we can." The 2011-2012 theme is "Diversity Means..."

Student ParticipationAnnually, hundreds of thousands of students participate in the Reflections program through their local PTAs. These student winners go on to compete at the district/regional and state levels, with the best-of-the-best entries going to National PTA to be considered for a National Reflections award. Each year, PTA gives the following awards at the national level: • Outstanding Interpretation Awards • Awards of Excellence • Awards of Merit • Honorable MentionHow to Get Involved in the Reflections ProgramAny PTA/PTSA in good standing is eligible to sponsor a Reflections Program.
