APPPEXPO 2017 was held in the NECC (National Exhibition and Convention Center) which is the newest ex-hibition complex in Shanghai. This year six members of the FLAAR Reports staff attended APPPEXPO, Asia’s largest wide-format printer expo. We needed a large staff In order to be able to take notes and evaluate all the different subjects:

This report covers the T-shirt printing aspect of APPPEXPO 2017; even though this expo is not merely focused on T-shirt printers, most of the main brands were present either on their own booth or in the booth of a distributor. Such as Epson and Mutoh in their own booths.

There are two methods to do t-shirt printing: direct-to-garment or by using transfer paper. For direct-to-gar-ment you can use pigment, disperse dye or UV ink, and for transfer printing you can use either dye sublima-tion ink or toner.

All the t-shirt printers at the show were using direct-to-fabric printing method.

Some printer companies have many years of experience in the wide-format market and are now entering the t-shirt printing mar-ket, for example Addtop and OC Alpha, which are regular exhibi-tors at APPPEXPO.
