WILLIAMS LAKE REGULAR SALE, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th

Williams Lake was the place to sell cattle today as, again, our ring sale set the trend that blew the doors off with 600 hd of quality! Calves started strong and Wayne Daul set the power base with 491 lb Blk Angus h/c marching to 188.50. Meghan Zimmerman had 535 lb Blk Angus h/c top 185.00. Fred & Janice Magnuson showcased pure quality with their 752 lb Simm s/c that hit 195.50. The big brothers, 863 lb s/c, rose to 189.00, or 1,631.07 per hd. Marion Purmal put the race to our yearling trade with 761 lb solid hfrs that brought 175.00. Klop Cattle Co. was in with another 3 incredible liner loads of yearlings, they were a show-case of Angus & Angus x, 49 hd, at 654 lb, notched 180.75. The next package, 717 lb, hit 178.50 and the big sisters, 858 lb, hit 172.25. Ed & Cheryl Monical saw their 11 hd of 970 lb open hfrs mark 167.75. The Douglas Lake Ranch, Alkali Lake Division, in with 811 lb Blk hfrs that sold to 174.00 and their 706 lb RWF hfrs and their 760 lb RWF hfrs hit 176.00. Douglas Lake, Riske Creek Div. had 864 bl Blk hfrs that topped 172.75 153 Mile Ranch’s 941 lb hfrs traded to 167.50. The Guichon Creek Ranch brought 875 lb Angus hfrs that rose up to 171.75. Al & Lorraine Sanford saw their 1414 lb butcher cows notch 77.50. Roger Williams & Wanda Dorsey in with hfrs, just under 900 lb, topped 170.00 and their 800 lb hfrs raced to 175.00. Next week starts the Fall Run for Wednesday Calf sales. We already have 1000 powerful calves listed and Thursday will be our regular cattle sale.

VANDERHOOF REGULAR SALE, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th

A very tidy sale here Friday. Just short of 500 hd total and they sorted up great! Brian and Pam McDonald (PG) showcased 500 lb Red s/c at 210.50, 451 lb h/c bringing 185.00, and 1527 lb cows reaching 82.75. That set the tone for the day as we saw Gerry Annis’ (PG) strong h/c, at 617 lb, force 176.50. Bill Harness (Telkwa) had 541 lb h/c at 180.50. Necoslie Cattle Co (Fort St James) came with 566 lb b/c worth 194.00, and 395 lb h/c went all the way to 205.00. Bob McNight (PG) had 632 lb b/c fetch 186.00. Lee Migvar (Punchaw) fired up the yearling trade with 925 lb Shorthorn influence strs at 180.00, 709 lb strs up to 188.00, & 748 lb hfrs settling at 175.00. A.A. Nunweiler (PG) saw his big 1008 lb

exotic hfrs crack 155.00. the 1489 lb Nunweiler cows raced to 84.75! John and Hillary McNolty in with 1479 lb exotic cows at 84.00. Fritz Walther (Fort St James) had a pen of 877 lb strs mark 185.00 and a 1970 lb blk bull right at 100.00. KC Ranch (Fort Fraser) had a 2200 lb red bull match that 100.00, but nobody could keep up to the 1910 lb Simmental bull from Clayton Steiner (Fraser Lk) that topped 103.00. A very clean, efficient, sale and a good warm up for the calf run. Over 1200 calves booked for next week and things are filling up after that. Call (250) 567-4333 to get them booked!

OK FALLS REGULAR SALE, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd

OK Falls doubled it’s numbers from a year ago as 800 hd hit the sale ring. We had a per-fect mix of calves and yearlings and the buyers loved them! Over 60 contributors made up this amazing sale and they brought us quality! Brenda Leir had a 1610 lb butcher cow trade to 91.00. She also had 600 lb s/c that sold to 208.50 and 527 lb s/c that saw 217.75. Rafter F Ranches had 1535 lb butcher cows mark 89.75. Larry Koller brought 1248 lb cows that saw 90.00. His fancy pen of 496 lb Red Angus h/c rose to 185.00. David Ure had 479 lb Blk Angus s/c roll to 217.00, 420 lb s/c notched 235.00 and his h/c, 370 lb, marked 214.50. George Hartskamp was in with his 925 lb beautiful, Blk hfrs hit 167.75. Scott & Rosie Thordardson of Rosco Ranch saw their liner load of 930 lb Blk strs top 183.00, their 830 lb strs marched to 190.00 and their top 885 lb Blk hfrs traded at 170.00. Thomas Ranches’ 575 lb Blk s/c hit 214.75 and their bigger 689 lb s/c raced up to 204.00. TJ Trotter’s 710 lb s/c sold to 201.00, his 621 lb s/c hit 208.25 and his 577 lb h/c sold to 186.00. Richter Ranch’s 610 lb s/c brought 207.00 and their 489 lb s/c traded to 225.00. Kathryn Kelly in with just under 600 lb s/c that topped 211.00. Brenda Kelly had a great set of calves. Her choice quality Gelbvieh / Angus X s/c, 560 lb, notched 216.00 and her huge 650 lb h/c hit 185.00. Dave & Wanda Casorso set the trend with solid & good 543 lb Blk Angus s/c that marked 216.50 and their fancy 540 lb Blk Angus h/c raced to 190.50. Sumac Farms had heavy 685 lb Red Angus x s/c that powered to 207.00. Pat Lawrence brought us a liner load of yearlings. 23 hd of their Hereford / Angus x strs, 985 lb, traded to 181.00 and their 900 lb Hereford strs saw 181.25. Bud & Kathy Gottfriedson had 670 lb Char x s/c sell to 208.50. Marv & Tanya Stevens saw their 560 lb Blk Angus s/c top 213.75 and their pen of 483 lb Blk Angus h/c rolled to 190.50. This was one exciting sale and it just flew by! Just a reminder for when we hit the October Calf Sales in OK Falls, we will be starting the sale at 10:00 am instead of 11:00 am.

We had another exciting sale in Kamloops today as we saw over 800 hd, including an amazing In-House video sale at 11:00. Calves made up 60% of todays receipts with the balance being yearlings and butcher cows and bulls. This is the 3rd week in a row that Peter Deuling set the price market trend with his 476 lb Angus x s/c that topped 224.00. Aaron & Sue Fotsch had 600 lb Red Angus s/c mark 213.00 and their fancy h/c, 565 lb, hit 191.00. The Crystal Lake Ranch blew the doors off with one incredible load of Simm x calves! 40 hd of their 823 lb s/c raced to 202.00 and their 720 lb s/c notched 208.00. 41 hd of their fancy 716 lb h/c saw 185.00 and their big sisters, at 762 lb, settled in at 185.75. Rivers Edge Ranching in with 566 lb Char x s/c that sold to 216.00. Their fancy 528 lb h/c set the record at 207.00. Larry Spence saw his 746 lb Angus x s/c sell to 202.75 and 13 hd of his powerful 653 lb h/c hit 184.75. His ring full of 580 lb h/c brought 186.75. Bob & Suzanne Brash saw their 633 lb Blk s/c trade to 207.50 and their 555 lb Char h/c sold to 199.50. Ron Eden had 426 lb Angus s/c reach 229.00, his 400 lb Angus h/c sold to 209.00 and the 337 lb h/c notched 214.00. Ed Mertion had 820 lb Blk strs hit 191.00. Aldergrove Limousin had 765 lb Blk strs sell to 195.00. Brian Carl in with 900 lb Red Baldie strs that topped 183.75. Javier Hernandez had 541 lb Red Angus / Gelbvieh x s/c top 213.50 and his 475 lb h/c topped 201.00. Russell Williams had 545 lb s/c race to 214.00. Red Neck Cattle Co. had 972 lb Red Baldie strs top 183.00. This was one incredible sale from start to finish. Next week looks great as well with the listings pouring in! Also, a huge thanks to everyone who partici-pated in Friday, September 20th’s Kamloops Saddle Horse Sale, we had huge attendance and some amazing quality horses! Our top seller went for 8,300.00! We would like to take a moment to mention the passing of Bill Palmer, of Heffley Creek. He was so helpful and hardworking here at the Kamloops BC Livestock yards for many years. He worked the pen-ning alley, week after long week, on his well trained horses. Every so often he would have to ride into the ring to bring out a very stubborn cow or bull and he always got it done fast and smooth! Bill’s service will be on Wednesday, October 2nd at 10:30 am at the St. John Vianney Catholic Church here in Kamloops. He will be sorely missed and we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to the Palmer Family.
