Re-enrollment deadline is November 1st! You can access the online system at: iowa.4honline.com or
www.extension.iastate.edu/jackson. The MOST important thing to remember is that all
returning members have a profile set-up, you just need to log in to it. You need to type
your e-mail address (if you don’t remember what address you used, contact the CEO)
and type your password from last year, or select "I forgot my password." If you do not
have computer access, please contact the Extension Office and we can make arrange-
ments.
Fair Premium Checks Please be sure to cash your fair premium checks by December 31st. Questions about your checks, contact the Extension Office.
New Member Meeting! Sunday, November 3rd 5:00pm | Extension Office
This is a great time for new members and families to get acquainted with the 4-H program as well as have some fun and meet new
people and friends. New members will receive a 4-H box with many important materials and supplies that will help you in your 4-H
career. Once new members are enrolled in 4-H Online they will receive their official invitation in the mail! RSVP to Katie at
[email protected] by October 28th.
Photography Frenzy has been created for those who are interested in the photography area. It’s a series of monthly challenges; a time for you to practice your photography skills and get feedback from professional photographers. The program is shaped after the 4-H Camera Corps – a program the state has run for the past couple years.
Each month a photography challenge will be sent, along with some photography tips and tricks, to try along with it. 4-H’ers have 2 weeks to complete and submit their photos, then they will be posted online for the public to vote and our judges to look at. Sounds

Tips: Look around to find interesting lines, shapes, and textures. Try utilizing the rule of thirds.

Complete the daily challenges during National 4-H Week and be entered to win a 4-H prize package to be given out at the Annual Recognition
Banquet. To be entered: Daily challenges will be posted to the Jackson County 4-H Facebook page. Follow the directions and complete the daily
challenge. Completion may require a comment to the post, picture to the post, or something else. Each post reply= 1 entry to win the prize package!
Sunday, October 6th
Scavenger Hunt Sunday. There’s a 4-H clover rock hidden in Maquoketa, Bellevue, Miles, Preston, and Baldwin. A riddle or rhyme
will help you find the rock. Can you find it? When you do, take a picture with the rock… but be sure to put it back where you found it!
Monday, October 7th
Post the “Join 4-H” flyer in somewhere in your community. Will be emailed to families on Sunday.
Tuesday, October 8th
What’s your favorite thing about 4-H? Reply in the comments of today’s challenge post on facebook.
Wednesday, October 9th
Write a special note or thank you to and mail it to someone who has been a positive 4-H influence to you.
Take a picture of you writing your letter or putting it in the mailbox and post it in the comments of today’s challenge.
Thursday, October 10th
Tell us about a talent you discovered through 4-H. How has 4-H helped you uncover your talents? Post your response in the com-
ments of today’s challenge.
Friday, October 11th
Wear your favorite 4-H shirt to school! Don’t forget to take a picture and post it in the comments of today’s challenge!
Saturday, October 12th
Our 4-H families are super! Post a picture of your 4-H family to our facebook for today’s challenge!
